I need a new jacket / coat for spring. Max budget about £100

Something that I can wear both work and leisure. Would consider two separate coats if they still come under budget. Ideally showing off my weight loss and the work one (if getting two separate coats) needs to look smart and professional.

Needs to be waterproof and warm, but at the same time light and not a heavy coat. A hood would be good - not too big that I can't see and not too short that I still end up wet.

I currently wear seasalt but it's too heavy now and too big as I've lost weight. I'm probably between sizes, so a loose size 16 I'd say.

Suggestions please?

What you described sounded exactly like a Seasalt coat, and then you said that you had one! I have a Porthchapel Mac which I wear in spring, and although it isn't padded it's surpisingly warm. The hood is a little on the small side, but is ok and does the job when I'm walking to work. There's a navy one on sale at half price on their website.

I'm wearing a Plant Hunter at the moment, but that be a little bit too bulky for spring.

They're not the most stylish coats, but they do what they say on the tin!

The Maine New England ones (seen on Debenhams website) - they have shower proof and waterproof versions. Also, Regatta or Craghoppers.
