Thinking of changing my skincare and makeup and some of their products have caught my eye.
Interested in opinions on this brand or recommendations of which of their products to try?

I wouldn't. It's an MLM so hugely overpriced for what it is.

SuperSange · 09/03/2019 14:49

I've only got the tamanu balm, but it's been fantastic on my contact dermatitis. My steroid cream wasn't even working, but the balm worked on it. It's also good for rosecea and eczema.

littlecloudling · 09/03/2019 14:53

Mixed. It is mlm so a lot of money is commission, however they don't have the overhead costs of brands with stores. Some of the stuff is good but you will have to endure a party. I like neals yards stuff

MLM doesn’t mean it’s more expensive, shops mark up prices by 250%, MLM average 25-35%. Saying that, I’m not a fan of MLM at all, though I appreciate how they employ mums most often. I ordered from the Tropic website recently and have been quite impressed so far, though I’d like to try a little longer before completely changing to them. Anything is worth a try. I got a discovery set, small samples of a few things.

Many thanks for your replies.
I may try the discovery set first and go from there.
I’ve heard good things about their tamanu balm and I was particularly interested in the cleanser, toner and the mineral make up. I’ll try to order online so I can avoid the party.... Grin

The mineral makeup is okay but as far as skincare is concerned, I'd recommend anything else. Neal's Yard is good stuff.

I love their products. Pretty much use it all. You dont have to have a party. Just find an ambassador close by and order through them or order online. Hope you enjoy the products. Xx

Bananajam · 09/03/2019 19:17

I reacted badly to Tropic face masks which was not expected considering its supposed to be all natural with a short shelf life and no nasties

Ruby6684 · 09/03/2019 19:19

Bananajam you can still have a reaction to natural products. People who suffer nut allergies can't use some of their products either xx

helpmehelpmygirl · 09/03/2019 20:19

I love Tropic stuff! I don’t find it overly expensive and it’s not actually a MLM, it’s considered social selling as the shelf life is quite short. Have a look a the Think dirty app and anyone will change their minds about Tropic

MrsChollySawcutt · 09/03/2019 20:22

Had a free sample of the Tropics green serum and reacted really badly to it. Also think it's vastly overpriced for what it is.

My sister uses tropic skincare. She knows 3 people that sell it. All of them have asked her if she's thought about selling it. They may not do the hard sell like some of the others but it certainly sounds like mlm to me.

The products seem ok but some do seem quite expensive. I've used one of their oil serums and it didnt clear up my discoloration like it stated but it left my.skin feeling nice, but so does my cheap ordinary products.

mrslebon · 09/03/2019 23:26

The Discovery kit is a good place to start. I use the vitamin toner and the smoothing cleanser - both very good. The shower gels are nothing special though.
