Can anyone recommend a good one please?
I have sensitive teeth and gums so nothing that will irritate that but just something to make me want to actually smile!

I've found oil pulling with coconut oil to whiten my teeth best. Or even just brushing with coconut oil. You can make it minty with edible grade essential oils.

I bought the Holland and Barrett charcoal one. It’s not doing much for me but, I’ll finish it. Wouldn’t buy again.

I have been recommended Blanc. Although today is my first day using it I can't vouch for it yet.

Pearl Drops is unbelievable . I've used loads of others but nothing comes close. There's a new pink type out now which is soooo whitening. Luminous bright, or something like that.

I’m looking for a good one that actually works as well

Serendipity09 · 06/03/2019 13:31

Thank you so much for your replies. I have tried the charcoal but not noticed anything different really.
Just read about the coconut oil pulling - swish around in mouth for 15-20 mins? Do you do that? I can't imagine keeping it in that long.
Will have a look at Blanc and Pearl Drops. Have used Pearl Drops in the past but not the new one.

I've been using arm & hammer charcoal whitening toothpaste and pearl drops (use one in the morning and the other at night) and they have made a real difference for me.

Macleans whitening toothpaste didn't work at all. OralB's whitening toothpaste did help but not as successful as the above two.

I can't understand how oil pulling will work, how will it lift stains off?

Eliza9917 · 06/03/2019 16:54

I don't do it for 20 mins, more like 5, 10 if I make an effort to do it for longer.

Invisimamma · 06/03/2019 18:18

Sorry it's Blanx, predictive text error!

ElfrideSwancourt · 06/03/2019 22:08

Stay away from Pearl Drops op! It's VERY abrasive and will strip off your enamel.

I'm a dentist and I don't ever use a whitening toothpaste - no matter what they say, they are abrasive to some degree. I've seen too much damage.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/03/2019 22:35

My dentist told me none of these actually work, and will ultimately rub away your enamel leaving the yellow-y layer of tooth underneath. She said the best thing is a proper clean in the surgery, or professional whitening.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/03/2019 22:36

Whoops, hadn’t seen the previous post by an actual dentist. Ignore me!

RLOU30 · 06/03/2019 22:40

These don’t worry have them whitened by a professional or leave your teeth alone and use regular paste. They really are a waste of money.

RLOU30 · 06/03/2019 22:40

Work*

Daisychicken - that is good to know! I have just bought travel sizes of both the Arm & Hammer charcoal and the Pearldrops one too!

Palominoo · 07/03/2019 18:12

Xoc charcoal powder in a tub. Inoffensive taste. Not harsh but makes teeth look much whiter/brighter/cleaner.

Nelsondog · 07/03/2019 22:51

I use Colgate Total Whitening toothpaste and then after I’ve flossed I mix 10ml of Hydrogen Peroxide 3% with half a teaspoon of water in a lid from the top of a Corsodyl bottle which has the measurement indicator in the inside and this reduces the concentration of the peroxide to around 2%, I leave it in for 5 minutes and do this morning and night. My teeth are white and I no longer spit blood.
