Why the buggeration can't I get this hair colour?

Just had hair coloured again. Another new hairdresser. More bleach. Hair has been bleached that much that its on the verge of turning into chewing gum. Had the usual chat - clean blonde, not yellow, cool, ashy, not platinum though etc. Yeah, yeah, easy, can do that, not far off it anyway...... Showed them the obligatory picture. Have come away with super light, almost white blonde, rather than that lovely ashy blonde that seems so bloody elusive. Have washed it in purple shampoo but it's still not right. Wtf do I need to do?????

TBH your colour looks beautiful even if it isn't what you wanted originally. So many people can only dream of getting the blonde shade you have ended up with!

My best advice after colouring mishaps is - can I actually bear to look at it in the mirror or not? If yes - even if I don't like it at all, but it's passable to the rest of the world, then I just leave it alone (chemically-wise). It will go darker naturally after a few weeks anyway. Condition like mad!

it does look lovely though.

In the event of a nuclear blast my hair will absolutely definitely be the last thing standing!
It looks horrendous today, like Jedward on acid!
I do love the fact that my hair is (to quote my friends) ‘a bit different’

Blimey, may be I should lead a more healthy lifestyle, can you imagine some other being examining my hair, gawd knows what conclusions they could draw!

I can see the difference in your pictures. If you can add some slightly darker lowlights I think you're very close. I think you'd want what they call sandy or beige blonde.
What about those colour deposit shampoos? Superdrug have a couple online, but I've seen different shades instore (look for own brand colour effects shampoo in, or this)

Actually I think it's worth contacting the hairdresser and asking their advice. You have the photo of the desired colour so it's not miscommunication. It might be that a toner or something quick and simple is all you need.

I'm going to ring them tomorrow. I hate it. It looks ridiculous. It looks nicer in the pic than it actually is in real life. I can't even begin to describe how awful it makes me look.

www.amazon.co.uk/Aphogee-Two-Step-Protein-Treatment-118/dp/B005XKN8WE/ref=asc_df_B005XKN8WE/?tag=bingshoppinga-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid={creative}&hvpos={adposition}&hvnetw=o&hvrand={random}&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl={devicemodel}&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583795261496603&psc=1

You need this. It performs miracles on over processed hair. In DD's words it makes your hair feel like hair again. An Olaplex treatment before the aphogee won't hurt. Blonde is a really hard colour and it very much depends on what tones are already present in your hair and how it lifts. Not even Lee Stafford or Vidal Sasson could guarantee to get you the precise shade of blonde you want. It's just not posibble, bleaching doesn't work like that. If it's too light you can tone it down with lowlights but I really wouldn't atm, not if your hair is at the gummy stage. Maybe a true-semi as a toner but nothing with peroxide.

Success! I dug out the bleach London pearlesence and it's worked wonders. Much better than purple shampoo. It's grabbed a bit pink in places but it's now softer and less yellow and I can live with it now!!

Wow it looks beautiful!

Oh I’m glad you’re a bit happier my lovely. When your hair isn’t right you feel rotten, I know.

itsbetterthanabox · 08/03/2019 21:22

When your hair goes chewing gummy it needs protein. Do a strong protein mask then moisture.

Blueemeraldagain · 11/03/2019 23:20

Hurray!! I love the effect it has on my hair!
