what's best so that I don't look anaemic and like I haven't slept in weeks?
usually I wear only a bb cream and mascara.

hair tied back or open?

it will be a regular thing during the next few months due to a project I'm involved with.
(until now we had most meetings in person)

I work from home and deliver a lot of online training, and have online meetings most days, and I find the lighting is the thing that makes a difference. I have two ring lights that sit just behind the computer, on each side. If you don’t have control of your environment though, that will be harder, as overhead strip lighting is the killer. After that, I just wear a bb cream, blush, powder on the shiny bits, mascara, liner and brow pencil (no shadow usually) and lipstick. No jingly jewellery as the mic really amplifies it.

good point about light.
atm I have one (normal household) pendant above the screen. but could drag a desklight in from another room

Hair down I'd say definitely. With hair up from front on I look like a baby seal. Of course that may not be the case for you.

Definitely hair down
