Vvv pale foundation?

So I have been using calico the lightest no 7 foundation from boots for years. Bought it again few months ago and it seems really orangy and Im getting bad tide marks. Thought it might be a dodgy batch but went into boots today to try some out, there seemed to be another lighter shade but both seemed nasty and orange on me. Obviously Im probably at my lightest at this time of year but never noticed this before.
For context to my complexion my school nickname was Casper (as in friendly ghost) I dont mind going a bit darker but want to avoid looking orange or grubby. I also have quite sensitive skin.
Anyone got any recommendations for ranges that have decent light shades?

I'm so pale I look blue. I used to use Calico and found the same issues you did. I've just bought Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation in their lightest shade F1. It's brilliant! It was fiver and it matches so well

FrostedSnowdrops · 03/03/2019 23:06

I use the palest L'Oréal true match. I used calico too and it was way too dark.

Cookiedough123 · 03/03/2019 23:07

I used to use the no7 calico. They have an even lighter shade called porcelain. I dont find it orangey in the slightest! You can only get porcelain from the bigger boots stores. They dont sell it in the smaller shops.

I hear you gruffaloshmuffalo!
Thanks gruffaloshmuffalo and FrostedSnowdrops will give them a try-quite relived nobody is suggesting anything too expensive. Bonus.

I use calico & I'm not quite as fair as you. Porcelain is too light for me so might be OK for you. I don't find it orangey either.

QueenOfPharts · 03/03/2019 23:14

Ah ok Cookiedough123 might look out for it as they only had the tester and they only had in some ranges. It didnt look radically different when I tried the tester but wondering if testers were mixed up nowConfused

NYX have a good range of pale/ light shades Smile

Scarscar · 03/03/2019 23:23

Lililolo do very pale foundation. They are an online company and you can buy a small sample to try.
Have a very pale red headed friend who swears by them.

MAC Studio Fix in NW10. I'm very pale, normally the lightest in most brands, but that shade is too pale for me. There is also a very pale shade of Estee Lauder Double Wear but the name escapes me.

Lancôme teint Idole ultra in 008 is a very pale cool to neutral toned shade. There are about 4 other darker pale shades with various undertones.

I think there's about 40 shades in total. They do generous samples at the counter if you ask.

It's long lasting, light to medium coverage, natural finish and not overly matte or dewy, somewhere in between. I apply it with a domed foundation brush (real techniques expert face brush) and blend any bits that need it with a slightly damp beauty blender sponge (real techniques again.)

Good luck finding one. There's a lot more choice now. Most ranges (apart from No7!) have a much better range of pale and dark shades than they used to.

Fenty. It's a dream.

UterusUterusGhali · 04/03/2019 01:18

My dd uses GOSH I think, and nip and fab?

QueenOfPharts · 04/03/2019 07:32

Thanks so much much for the really helpful responses. Glad there seems to be a lot of choice out there. I actually used to use Lancome many moons ago (pre DC) and never had a problem with the shades.
Quite like the idea of splurging on something more expensiveWink though pleased to hear there are some more purse friendly options out there.
Enidbutton thanks for the tips for applying too.

Rimmel Stay Matte in Light Porcelain is very pale. It's in a tube and is quite a moussey consistency.

Palominoo · 04/03/2019 08:31

Laval secret beauty foundation is a very cheap drugstore foundation which comes in all shades including the very palest.

motheroftinydragons · 04/03/2019 08:56

Estée Lauder Double Wear in IC1 Shell is brilliant and a little bit gores a long way. It lasts me ages.

E20mom · 04/03/2019 09:12

Max factor Porcelain is great

feelinghopeful2 · 04/03/2019 09:25

Also incredibly pale so always go for the lightest shade. I’ve also used the Revolution Stick but find it very wet, even when used with a beauty blender.
EX1 cosmetics have a good range of colours as well as being a formula. Got coverage, not too thick, long lasting. £12.50
The Ordinary Coverage Foundation is another I like. £6

If you’re wanting to treat yourself, then I love the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk or Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation.
