Shampoo dupes in Aldi and Lidl

I've never used any of the Aldi/Lidl dupes of the well known shampoo brands, but I'm interested in trying one. Just wondering if anyone here can vouch for them?

I have long-ish coloured hair, pretty fine but there's a lot of it. I find Aussie and Pantene suit my hair, Alberto Balsam dries it out and gives me dandruff.

Thinking of trying the Aussie or John Frieda dupes. All opinions gratefully received!

Lidl tresemme conditioner dupe is crap and apart from the bottle is nothing like it.

Blondielongie · 03/03/2019 21:27

The aussie mega dupe is very similar I think.

RLOU30 · 03/03/2019 21:28

The Aussie one is so alike imo

Biancadelrioisback · 03/03/2019 21:38

Agree with Pizza other than it being a big round bottle it's barely conditioner! Awful stuff

abeautifulmess1234 · 03/03/2019 21:41

The fake Aussie one in Wilko is really good

TheFishInThePot · 03/03/2019 21:43

Aldi Aussie is great.

BakewellGin1 · 03/03/2019 21:44

Another vote for Aldi copy of Aussie

fiorentina · 03/03/2019 21:46

Aldi John Freida is good. And the Elvive knock off.

LittleMissCantbebothered · 03/03/2019 21:47

Aldi tresemme dupe is rubbish.

LurkyMcLurky · 03/03/2019 21:53

The Aldi Aussie dupe smells nice, but it is a lot more watery than the genuine stuff. For the price, it's fine though.

HappyGoGoLucky · 03/03/2019 22:08

I've had no issues with them. I really like the Lacura Anti Dandruff shampoo (Head and Shoulders copy). Makes my hair squeaky clean and only cost 79p for 500ml bottle.

FuckyNel · 03/03/2019 22:11

Just buy it and use as shaving balm if you don’t like it. Or give it to the kids to use Grin

CouldBeAnyoneReally · 03/03/2019 22:24

Shampoo and conditioner are the only Aldi products I’ve not liked. All the shampoo made my hair like straw and the conditioners are watery. Worth a try for the price though.

Sakura7 · 03/03/2019 22:33

Thanks all. Will avoid the Tresemme ones, not a fan of the real thing anyway so that's no loss! Might give the Aussie one a go.

I know it's only cheap but I hate buying a shampoo, finding it crap and then being stuck trying to use it up (even for shaving). So it's nice to have some recommendations to go on :)

Have you got a home bargains near? Today I got OGX shampoo for £2 (£6 in Tesco) and Aussie shampoo for £2 too.

Sakura7 · 03/03/2019 22:47

That sounds brilliant Alabaster. I'm in Ireland though so no Home Bargains (or Wilkos) unfortunately. It's Aldi, Lidl or Dealz (our version of Poundland) for cheap shampoo.

CN conditioner like TRESemme Liddl.equivalent gave me an allergic reaction all over my eyes. Not good I would not recommend. Far better paying the little extra for TRESemme conditioner.

westcountrywoman · 30/07/2024 19:16

The Lidl Head and Shoulders dupe is awful. Doesn't lather at all well and leaves my hair feeling very dry.
