I've asked for hell before and you've been great. So, I'm pushing my luck and asking again!
5'10", long body and longish legs, size 20 (which is the issue, gained 4st in last 18 months), small to moderate boobs, lumpy, split level tummy and saggy.

I am going away with 4 lovely but stylish & slim ladies in a few weeks. They won't care but I do. I want to look nice. Pre weight gain, i would have been perfectly ok. But now, I can't shop. Style me for a semi "naice" weekend away in the UK. Please. Thank you.

Where are you going? What will you be doing? How many nights are you away?

beeyourself · 03/03/2019 09:16

I'm a similar size to you and as a starting point I'd make sure my shoes and bag matched colour-wise, that I had a well-fitting coat/jacket in a colour that suited me.

Usuallyinthemiddle · 03/03/2019 09:20

Lakes, 3 nights, lunch, mooching, wine, dinner.

Thank you!

Yes, I think the jacket might be the key.

@Usuallyinthemiddle

Do you like this coat? If we start with the coat, we can work from there!

Usuallyinthemiddle · 03/03/2019 09:30

I would have never considered it but yes, I do. Actually I really do!!

Jolly good! Do your wear flats? I can't imagine the pleasure of being 5ft10! Must be ace.

beeyourself · 03/03/2019 09:35

What colours suit you best? What colour are your shoes/boots and coat?

Pick 2-3 colours and stick to them.

I'd take:
2 pairs of nice jeans/cords (wear one pair to travel)
1 skirt
1 dress
3 tops
1 warm jumper
1 scarf
1 coat

My best colours are navy, deep red, grey - so I'd take:
Navy jeans, deep red cords, navy skirt
Navy coat, red/grey scarf, grey jumper
Tops/dress in any of the three colours

@beeyourself

Ha! We share the same best colours...hence the coat! Grin

beeyourself · 03/03/2019 09:37

The coat looks lovely!

Usuallyinthemiddle · 03/03/2019 09:42

Always flats.
Tend to avoid black unless I have a tan. (Which is rare)
Like blues and tans.
I struggle with tops because of my double tum. But don't want a frumpy tunic (Yes, I know, lose weight!)
Are shirts too old?

OP posts:
nowlook · 03/03/2019 09:48

Defo no to tunic tops!

I like the idea of white trainers with wide leg trousers and a fitted shirt or ruchey jersey wrap top. Nice tan bag. Does than appeal?

How are you with jumpsuits? I'm longer in the body than the leg, so either get a camel toe or 15 inches of extra leg...Sad

beeyourself · 03/03/2019 09:50

I'd take some comfortable ankle boots for wandering around. Shoes for evenings maybe

Runkle · 03/03/2019 09:50

The new range of jeans at M&S are fab (I've just come back form a weekend away and wore two pairs of them - so comfy, don't slip down and really flattering for £19.50 - and they do them for long legs too.

Usuallyinthemiddle · 03/03/2019 09:50

I tried one last year and looked really silly! My waist isn't in the right place.
Now... wrap tops... talk to me!

OP posts:
nowlook · 03/03/2019 10:02

That top would be really good with the coat!

nowlook · 03/03/2019 10:08

Like this silk blouse (but most of my wardrobe is silk shirts, jeans and jackets)

Now then... I'm getting there!

Tan loafers? Yay or nay?

OP posts:
beeyourself · 03/03/2019 10:23

Would tan loafers go with your bag? If so, yes!
