Another wedding style help me thread!

I’d really appreciate some ideas, if anyone can spare the time!

I have a wedding coming up. Country house hotel type thing. The other guests are going to be dressed up to the nines - think Aintree races style. Lots of hair, heels and make-up. I usually dress quite simply, really, but I really do want to make the effort.

I’m wearing the attached dress
with these shoes:

I’m 5ft7, a size 10/12 - big boobs but I have a very good strapless bra and DH says the dress looks really good (not least because it was in the sales pre-Christmas...)

I’ve got dark hair and I’ll be having a good tan beforehand.

I really want a tallish hat / fascinator, but not one that looks like a semi-plucked parrot.

What should I go for? What jewellery and bag should I go for? Make up? I want to look glamorous but stylish. I’m 35, if that makes any difference!

I really, really like these hats. But my more stylish sister says the pheasant feather one is too heavy for the lightness of the dres and the other one “might clash”.

Slightly hopeful bump....

The dress is lovely but I don't like the hats.

I think you might need a flatter hat with a brim to stop it all looking tall and narrow.

MrsBertBibby · 27/02/2019 16:25

What will you wear over the dress?

I would go for something metallic probably, I find hats/fascinators such a faff, I'd rather a fancy hair clip, but maybe the ones above are 'light' enough

I was thinking a pashmina - we won’t be outside at all, so just a pashmina to cover my shoulders during the ceremony.

Dull update - thanks for the feedback!

I think I’m going for this combination. DH thinks the shoes a little clunky but they’re really comfy....

And another. Unsure how to style hair/make up.

I think you need a black hat to go with the shoes and clutch

Bubblysqueak · 17/03/2019 16:14

Love the hat, but think I would match the colour of the hat with the shoes and pashmina if possible.
