Face roller

Hello1290 · 26/02/2019 21:11

I remember reading a thread on here a few months ago about a really good facial roller. I think it was pretty pricey but a few posters had good results - it seemed to give them a healthy plump glow if I remember correctly! Does anyone know which roller this might be ?

Derma roller? I haven’t used it on my face but I have one for stretch marks.

Hello1290 · 27/02/2019 17:51

Don't think it was a derma roller. I seem to remember it being more expensive around 100 quid.

Was it the Nuface mini? I've just bought it on the back of that thread and am going to give it my first go tonight!

Are yiou thinking of the Dermawand, not exactly a roller but you glide it across your face and its red light, radio frequency
I had one, did give your skin a kind of glow but didnt seem to do much else, cant think of any other kind of roller

GreenHatHacker yes Nuface mini that's the one! It had rave reviews on here. Good luck with it tonight I would be interested to hear how you get on with it.

Also where did you buy yours from - thanks

So I bought mine from Currentbody.com

Had been thinking of getting one for a while as felt like my face was getting a bit saggy - saw a thread here several months ago and finally got around to ordering.

First go tonight...

Tested the gel yesterday to make sure I wasn't allergic to it. Rubbed it on face tonight, then realised I'd need something to wipe it off hands before picking up the device. Go get tissues, then start again...

I'd read the leaflet in depth last night too - it tells you to use three sets of strokes across neck, cheeks and forehead, making sure not to go into eye sockets or temple areas. However, I've either got a small head or my mini device is a big one, as I only had room on my face for two strokes!

I had been expecting a sort of TENS machine effect with pulsing, so was disappointed when leaflet said that's not how machine works. Device starts up on lowest setting - I couldn't feel anything and was wondering if I'd been taken for a sucker. Turned it up to the max setting & nearly blew my fillings out! Very prickly! Decided to use middle setting with the occasional prickle to tell me it was working. Did my five minute session getting used to the routine - no noticeable difference other than a bit pink. I think you are supposed to use it intensively for 60 days, so will report back once I've built up over time.

Small head or big device made me laugh GreenHatHacker Thanks for all the info.

I have justgot rid of mine, i had a nu face mini which i bought off ebay and really liked it, but it packed up eventually,so bought a nu fce trinity ,brand new,it didnt seem as good as the mini, and felt nothing even when touching areas without gel, but noticed jowls look worse, so maybe was working after all,
I used Aloe vera gel when the original ran out,its not as sticky and does the same job, and much cheaper to buy
Good luck with it, hope you find it good ,but i agree about the size when you have a small face,i have and the trinity didnt fit right on my face ,i couldnt do the 3 strokes either

RuggyPeg · 28/02/2019 07:27

It's not got rave reviews at all. It's discussed on a couple of other threads and it's got meh reviews at best. Mine is being returned to current body on their 90 day guarantee after doing precisely nothing.

princessTiasmum · 28/02/2019 10:02

The advert for it by Current body show it as lifting the models eyebrow up immediately it is used, but that doesn:t happen at all
I had my first one for 2 years, and hasn:t made any real difference if any

GreenHatHacker · 01/03/2019 21:41

Well, this is going to be a short lived experiment I'm afraid. Woke up in the night with my skin feeling really irritated. My face has been really pink and hot today. Think I shall return it - disappointed that it doesn't work on the muscles as expected, slightly alarmed that it triggers flashes of light when used near eyes and generally too much faff, as well as an itchy face! No short cuts to toning, I guess - time to do face muscle exercises instead!

Triglesoffy · 01/03/2019 21:45

Please don’t ever micro needle. I bought one after watching the Trinny Woodall videos and it’s destroyed my face. I never got micro spots before. And now I do Angry

princessTiasmum · 01/03/2019 23:17

It might be the gel that has irritated you,and yes the nu face did cause flashes near your eyes, i had that too, i really think these gadgets are ok if you use them every night, but dont do anything permanently
I found Aloe Vera gel better, and cheaper, the nu face gel is very expensive

RuggyPeg · 02/03/2019 20:35

What are micro spots? I microneedle all the time and nothing disastrous happens.

princessTiasmum · 02/03/2019 21:02

I have used a dermaroller before but it didnt give me spots, just a bit of redness like flushing for a couple of days, nothing drastic
Are you pressing too hard maybe, ?

Triglesoffy · 02/03/2019 21:21

Micro spots are teeny tiny whiteheads and red spots which I never had before.

princessTiasmum · 02/03/2019 23:44

Did you use any cream or gel etc, that coul have given you the spots maybe? i have never heard of it with a dermaroller,or maybe put too much pressure on
