Anyone tried the new Boots hydra luminous foundation?

If so what did you think?

Mainly what is the coverage like? Staying power? Does it make you glow?

If, like OP, you're considering getting your hands on some No7 HydraLuminous Moisturising Foundation, you can find out more here. MNHQ.

I’ve swatched it on the back of my hand. Was surprised how heavy it was (it says it is medium coverage) and it looked very shiny.

WombOfHerOwn · 23/02/2019 18:38

I have a sample pot of it here beside me I was given yesterday when I popped in to Boots for something else. I shall try it tomorrow and report back.

NicoAndTheNiners · 23/02/2019 18:39

Hmmm, coverage sounds good. Now I'm worried it will be shiny.

If I ask the staff to do my face with it will they? I'd get a better idea I guess than just a bit on the back of my hand. I know higher end make up counters do it. Not sure about boots, no 7?

it's 'luminous' as it has a lot of highlighter in it! it's a bit heavy for me but ok diluted with a dab of moisturiser.

OffWithThePixies · 23/02/2019 19:54

I’ve found it needs to be applied straight after moisturiser or it doesn’t apply well - looks a bit ‘smeared powder’. It’s not heavy coverage like EL Double Wear but certainly thicker coverage than No7 Beautifully Matte or No7 Instant Radiance

I’ve tried The Ordinary Primer underneath it but didn’t help. So long as I’m moisturised and apply straight away, it’s ok. It didn’t like my Dr Jart Cica Tiger Balm underneath it either.

MyOtherLifeIsAFairytale · 23/02/2019 20:20

Yes, and I am veeeeeery picky. Once found an amazing foundation/moisturiser on a trip to anew York, so now order it once a year from the small vendor in California... I know...
BUT as I am running low, I picked up the Boots one and I bloody love it. Good cover, not dry and cakey, glides on well, no smell, and it just perfect.

NicoAndTheNiners · 23/02/2019 20:29

Sounds like it's worth a try then. I have a lovely Bobbi brown foundation which I love but it's £48 and has a stupid dropper bottle which wastes a lot of product. I can't bring myself to buy it again.

I mix it with an m and s primer by autograph which probably defeats the object but it’s lovely and dewy and actually better coverage than the lift and Luminate one. It’s quite long lasting which is a novelty for me as make up usually slides off my face !

PalindromicUser · 23/02/2019 20:52

Ugh I was hoping it would be much lighter coverage. Lift and luminaire and instant radiance are far too heavy (and actually ageing) for me.

I like Stay perfect Superlight.

GinandGingerBeer · 23/02/2019 21:07

I might give it a go. I've been using ELDW and it's drying out my skin massively.

YesQueen · 23/02/2019 21:16

It's really nice. I also love the CYO foundation

Thisismyusernamefornow · 23/02/2019 21:17

I bought it today. The lady did my colour match and then put a full face of it on and also used the concealer under eye, which was very nice - but u didn't buy that as well.

It's a heavier coverage than the name of it gives but still light and doesn't feel claggy

CrystalTeddyBear · 23/02/2019 23:37

What brand is this?

Chottie · 24/02/2019 06:51

Crystal Boots No. 7

rosesandcashmere · 26/02/2019 20:53

Yes and I adore it. I wasn't expecting to, I used ELDW mixed with no7 stay perfect superlight but still felt cakey. I bought as I had a voucher and I'm honestly so impressed. I've dry/combo skin that's sensitive and it's a great match so far. I let moisturiser sink in first x

rosesandcashmere · 26/02/2019 20:53

@palandromic it is quite light but not as light as superlight. It's a better finish.

poppylouie · 02/03/2019 17:14

I used boots warm ivory. Can anyone recommend any high street foundations as this is a great match and I’ve struggled but I need a fuller coverage.
