I just buy the really cheap silver shampoo (really runny and purple) I have my own shampoo and conditioner I like to use, I always double shampoo so just use the silver one about 3 times a week, just on the second shampoo. Works well for me, then a toner at the hairdressers.

I like the bleach London silver shampoo. It really works! I shampoo and leave it sit for a couple of minutes and then condition with whatever I'm using at the time. Beware though - it does stain grout if not immediately rinsed!

Ah ok! Thank you both!
Good ideas... :)
Does a conditioner or shampoo work better?
I was thinking l could leave a conditioner on longer? Confused

I've always been dubious about the conditioner, if you look at a silver shampoo it's a very dark purple, conditioner is just conditioner in a light purple, it doesn't look like it would do as much. I've never left purple shampoo in and it's always worked for me, I don't use it 2 weeks before getting my hair redone and you really see a difference.

I have used quite a few diffent shampoos and conditioners for highlighted hair. Sometimes the purple shampoos are quite drying and can make the hair tangle. Personally I prefer using the conditioners and leaving them on for a while or overnight. There’s a good one in a tub on Amazon that’s good value and smells lovely, I can’t remember the name, I’ll try to find it.

I've never felt the need to swap out my usual shampoo and conditioner so I get all the benefits of conditioning etc from those and just purple shampoo a bit in the week to brighten.

Loreal elvive have brought out a new purple one and it was half price in Tesco the other day

The purple conditioners I've tried have had nowhere near the clout of the bleach London shampoo (I don't work for them I swear 😁). The shampoo actually stains my hands it's so highly pigmented (is fine if you give them a quick wash) whereas the various conditioners I've tried just seems like purple coloured conditioner. I'd defo give the shampoo a go. I ran out recently and a couple of weeks later noticed yellow tones in my hair. Two days of BL shampoo and I'm back to creamy ashy blonde again.

Conditioner. I just use any old shampoo I'm using at the time and for conditioner I add purple semi dye (directions violet) to conditioner to make it a purple. You can make it a dark/vivid and you like then and leave it on for as long as you like for a deep conditioning treatment.

Purple shampoo that works? http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/3497904-Purple-shampoo-that-works

Recent thread on this.

I went for Fudge after reading the above and I'm really happy with it 😊 don't waste money on Tressemme. Absolutely rubbish.

Shampoo. The conditioner doesn't have enough pigment to make any difference. Fanola is the best and I've tried them all.

Oorwulliesbucket · 25/02/2019 14:07

Bloody hell, used the john Freida one and my hair is purple!!

dementedpixie · 25/02/2019 14:24

How long did you leave it on?

Oorwulliesbucket · 25/02/2019 16:10

About ten mins Smile

dementedpixie · 25/02/2019 17:46

Oops that might have been a bit too long. What does it say about timings on the tube?

Willowtreecottage · 26/02/2019 11:31

Highlighted blond. IV washed it a few times now so it's fading fast! Getting quite fond of the lilac hair now Grin
