Best body moisturiser for black skin?

My DP has very dry skin and has to put body lotion on every day after showering as it’s so dry. I wondered if anyone know of the best kinds of moisturising creams or lotions for this kind of skin? At the moment he’s finding E45 or Vaseline the best, but as a guy, he’s not really researched it ( and certainly doesn’t know the power of MN 😀) I’m white so my skin type is different and I’d really appreciate any help from women of colour who have more experience with this?

Hope that doesn’t sound insensitive but MN is my go to place for advice for everything these days so thought it would be the best place to start...

Don’t know if black skin is very different, but I use Aveeno Daily Moisturiser and it works well.

Pure Shea butter

Cocoa butter.

Butters are good, I use Nivea rich almond oil too.

MadauntofA thanks for the advice about black soap, I do actually have some that I bought in Morocco last year. I’ve not used it as I’ve been using the black soap with Argan oil, which is lovely, so I can suggest he uses that to see if it makes a difference

Black skin just shows dry patches more. Palmers coco butter, Shea moisture

It's not about what she is using but most likely the frequency of application. Daily application of lotion or cream is normal for many women of darker complexions. Tell her to find her favourite and up the application rate. Sunscreen is also a must for exposed skin. Black skin does age due to sun exposure (contrary to common belief).

Dermol500 is my go to. I use it for washing and moisturising as I have very dry skin. Works really well.
I find soap can be drying for dark skin so either use the dermol500 or a moisture enriched shower gel. If having a bath add bath oil to it.
As pp said, sunscreen is a must!
And drink lots of water!

@Destinysdaughter I think any cream but mixed with body oil like Johnson's etc will make his skin less dry. That was the tip given to me and seems to work well

I’m white, but my black friend swears by the Neutrogena body cream. It comes in a pump or a tub.
