AIBU to order shoes that I already have?

Please note, I am posting this here in the secure knowledge that lots of you will respond with "God, no, you are so NOT BU! I do that all the time!" Grin

Last year I bought some white Reebok trainers with gum soles: very classic & plain, and I love them - they go with virtually every pair of trousers I own and are insanely comfortable. I wore them a LOT (and I'm not a trainer-wearer usually). They look great with bare ankles or (as I'm wearing them as I write) with long socks under slouchy jeans. Those, with a breton top and a merino wool crew neck jumper on top, constitute my Spring uniform. I've only just started wearing them again after the Winter and I've reminded myself how much I love them. So much so that I've just been on the Reebok website and ordered another pair, even though my current ones are fine, if a bit grubby. I'm terrified they will become unavailable and I will never find their like again.

So AIBU? (I'm keeping them anyway!)

Very sensible of you. Always a good idea to double up on something you love to wear.

mynameiscalypso · 22/02/2019 10:44

Of course not! I have found the ankle boots for my fat legs (from M&S of all places!) and I've just bought a second and third pair.

HairyPotter · 22/02/2019 10:47

Sounds very sensible, any chance of a link? I’m always looking for the holy grail of trainers.

ChristinaRussell · 22/02/2019 10:56

@HairyPotter these are mine:
www.reebok.co.uk/club-c-85/CN4053.html but they have lots of variations. I like these because they don't come too high up the ankle (I have chunky legs). And I love the gum sole. Oh, and they're on offer at the moment!

Very sensible. Link please as I'm looking for the perfect white trainer too.

MrsBartlettforthewin · 22/02/2019 10:56

Oops cross post

ChristinaRussell · 22/02/2019 10:59

I've just noticed that the sole is slightly different to my current ones but hopefully they'll still be ok.

Oooh, they are lovely ...
What are the add letters bit about? Customisations? Where do they add these letters?

beanaseireann · 22/02/2019 11:01

You are right. I've just ordered my third dress - the same dress- in the same colour -
as my current one has a rip that can't really be repaired. The first dress was worn to bits and unwearable.
I'm just lucky the company has been able to source one for me. I'd be devastated if it was discontinued. I also have it in two other colours.
If something is right for you always order two Wink
How many of us have been disappointed when make up has been discontinued ?Glares at MAC (lipstick) and Bourjois ( eye pencil). Sad

I have a pair of Seasalt ankle boots from 2-3 years ago that I love - everything about them is completely right. I would love to buy another pair as backup but they don't do them anymore, nor anything remotely approaching them. Needless to say I am taking VERY good care of them!

@HeSaid6Months I think you can customise them but I don't know how. It's not something I'm interested in - I prefer my trainers boring classic.

Sensible. I have stockpiled birks for brexit. (4 pairs in the sale)
Stockpiling isn't just for food!

ChristinaRussell · 22/02/2019 11:41

@Chickenvindasaag I never thought of that!

I found a pair of leather Ugg ankle boots whilst out shopping with a friend, she was the one needing boots. They were so insanely comfortable that I followed them in the sales and bought another pair.

Easilyflattered · 23/02/2019 11:22

Sensible, I've often bought extra pairs of jeans when I've found a decent fitting pair.

PinkHeart5914 · 23/02/2019 11:27

If you find a pair of comfy shoes, buy them all. Don’t be like me, you just end up upset when you want another pair and they don’t make them any more.

I’ve got a T-shirt, really good quality and looks lovely so I have one in 5 different colours

TwinkleTits70 · 23/02/2019 11:30

I've done it with boots before. Bought them, loved them, they go in the sale so I buy another pair.

I've also done it with clothes.

SteelRiver · 23/02/2019 12:50

If I find something really comfy and I love how it looks, I'll often buy at least a couple more, so YANBU, you're being sensible! I recently bought some almond toe flatties and loved them so much, I ended up with 2 pairs in black and 2 in navy. The second set are in the wardrobe for when the first are beyond saving.
