A smart but comfortable coat

Does such a thing exist? I've always hated wearing coats, I feel so buttoned up and restricted in them. In cold/wet weather I wear a parka or a mac and when it's warmer I just wear a cardigan. Yesterday I went to a funeral and felt so scruffy! I think I'm looking for a coat that is soft and has a bit of give in it but isn't just a shapeless sack like my existing coats... Any suggestions please? I'm average height, size 16 and busty. I know I mentioned a funeral but I'm not after a black coat necessarily.

What about a peacoat from Hobbs, always smartens up my look. I'm the same size as you. I've also bought long coats from New Look recently, all wooly style. It just brings my outfits together

I've got this www.marksandspencer.com/single-breasted-coat/p/p60207689?image=SD_01_T49_1824_UT_X_EC_90&color=GREYMARL&prevPage=plp which is very light but warm. Also comes in Navy.

How funny, without seeing these replies I went to M&S and got Kilash's coat in navy!

You might like an unlined coat? Bit lighter and more like a mac but smarter.
