Has anybody got any ideas for affordable prom dresses that have sleeves(don't need to be full length sleeves) and are floor length? All the ones I've found are too expensiveSad

is it for you? you daughter?
what colours do you like?
what styles?

do any of the links so far appeal to you?

merrybloomizoothief · 22/02/2019 11:29

you need to give us more information

IrmaFayLear · 22/02/2019 11:30

Well, if your dd is not too proud, Ebay have loads of prom dresses - worn only once! - at a fraction of the price of a new one. Some of these dresses were £500 new Shock

Dd has some body issues and found a "modest" one with 3/4 length sleeves on the Next sale site - £40. But this was a couple of months ago. Or how about this? The Chichi London site seems to have lots of possibilities:

Thank you for all your suggestions! The dress is for my daughter, she likes merrybloom's first link with the pink dress but that is outside the price range sadly. She doesn't want the dress too over the top so no 'big' float dresses, if that makes sense.

TacoLover · 22/02/2019 13:17

She's a size 6

I got my daughter a lipsy dress in an outlet next by us for about £40. There were lots of long dresses.

TalkinPeece · 22/02/2019 13:24

second hand ?

AnnieOH1 · 22/02/2019 13:40

Checkout Homeyee on Amazon. Some fab dresses and good quality too. Something like this is less than £50:

Tkmaxx often have good prom dresses.

DandilionBreak · 22/02/2019 14:06

Some of the charity or vintage clothing shops might be worth a go. One of the Edinburgh charity shops has an entire room full of bridal and bridesmaid gowns, some of which may well be adaptable to a prom dress. Depends where you are, but there might be something locally. Also, would it be worth asking on your local community facebook page if anyone has a dress to sell that would suit your needs? The local girls often sell their dresses after one wearing - a quick dry clean and it's good to go.

My daughter got a lovely grey vintage style one from Quiz (last year). Floor length with short sleeves. Think it was £70sh. It looked so much classier than some of the others

TalkinPeece · 22/02/2019 15:35

DD's prom dress was actually a bridesmaids dress
as she wanted something simple that she could use again for balls and formal dances
