Bra & Knicker Sets

Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's, is it just me that's having trouble finding nice sets with no padded bra under a D cup? Is C cup not a popular size? Lovely set in Tesco I saw but nothing under a D. I asked and they even checked on their system, but they don't even do them in a C.

I thought this was complicated enough, now seems like maths is involved as well. Is this a recent change in how it's all calculated?

No you don't squish them. You measure round loosely

LifeCasting · 24/02/2019 07:08

I’m the same size (well, B/C) and have the same problem. I look in M&S but then buy on eBay. New sets only, but there are some factory sellers offering cheaper sets.

dementedpixie · 24/02/2019 07:08

If they are big enough thay you think they will reach the floor then you're definitely not a C cup!

dementedpixie · 24/02/2019 07:11

Under bust figure is your back size
Difference between under and over bust gives the cup size. Each inch = different cup size e.g. 1 inch - A, 2 inch - B, etc

Grin

That's a good tip re M&S factory sellers.

I'll go and get my tape measure now!

Right, under boob is 34 inch. I'll tackle boob hang after I've come home from work this afternoon. Bit scared... Smile

So you are a 34 something rather than 38. We should all be taking bets here!

Vitalogy · 24/02/2019 14:48

Went into Tesco on the way home. I tried a 34 whatever bra on but it seemed tight. I will re measure, maybe I was pulling the tape measure too tight. I think I'm going to plump on a 36. More comfortable. Back in a bit with cup measurement.

FGS the band is coming out at 33 now, I've shrunk since this morning Confused. The cup measurement seems to be 40 though.

You need to try a 34E/F and even a 32F/FF.

What cup size was the 34 you tried on earlier? A C up on a 34 band is smaller than a C cup on a 38 band so I wouldn't expect it to fit.

Vitalogy · 24/02/2019 15:21

That's surprised me, E/F cup then. I'll try some on and let you know. Thanks for all your help.

I can't remember the cup. I just grabbed a 34 to see, which was silly of me really.

Always try a new bra on back to front first to test the band for fit. If a 34 does up back to front (loosest hooks and you should only be able to pull the band away from your body a couple of cms), then put it on the right way and start working through different cup sizes.

Vitalogy · 24/02/2019 17:10

Ok. Thanks very much for the advice. Will try tomorrow. Hopefully I can get that lovely set I had my eye on. Smile

Knew it 😜

This was me 10 years ago! I was wearing 38C, went to be measured and measured at 34F and was blown away. Post breastfeeding now I've settled at 32H. My dress size hasn't changed.

FWIW I do think Tesco etc have a lot to shoulder a lot of blame with their A to D bras. Asda is pretty good for larger sizes, and Amazon strangely enough.

Jeackyll · 24/02/2019 19:45

chants “34F! 34F!”

Jeackyll · 24/02/2019 19:46

And yeah, most high street places only do A-D bras and if they do bigger cup sizes they start at a 36 back so the perception is that any cup size above a D is huge, but the reality is that most women have a smaller back size than 36 and a larger cup size than a D - if more women knew their correct bra size and bought that size then the high street would have to cater to demand.

reallemonade · 24/02/2019 23:13

Try m and s, they have a lot of sets.

Vitalogy · 25/02/2019 14:34

I managed to get that nice set I was after! 36E, I also got another cheeky little set for £6, should have been £18, so really pleased with that. The bra fits well and comfortable. The top half of my figure looks much improved, better shape and support.

14 years + wrong bra size! Thanks again all!
