Hade it a few months now and so far I like it. They do see to ave had a bit of a stock issue but I just wanted a couple of months and built my spending money up. Think will force myself to do that in future to save on postage.

I have a referral credit for a free month if anyone wants it? If so pm me. Disclaimer I get an extra £50 spending limit.

I have mainly tried skincare so far. I like the japanfusion cleanser and moisture cream, and the Vitamin Defence antioxidant serum. I’d say the formulations are more advanced than The Ordinary. The serums and moisturisers do seem quite silicone-y though.

My fave product is the Vitamin C capsules - again silicone heavy and quite drying so you have to use a moisturiser on top, but they are actually making a difference to my skin. And the capsule formula means you don’t have to worry about all oxidising and going nasty. Will definitely repurchase.

From the makeup range, I’ve also tried an eyeshadow stick (fab) and a little pot of highlighty magic called ‘triple luminizer’ or something. It’s magic, makes me look plump and glowy (a little goes a long way).

Has anyone tried the super retinol serum? I’m new to retinol and am wondering if it would be a good one to start with?

LaurenOrdering · 21/02/2019 23:40

Nomorerainplease I fancy that Charlotte Tilbury lookalike palette.
TheWombat have you tried any other serums? I can't decide which one to try first.

apparentlyso · 21/02/2019 23:50

Why do they make it a membership thing, and not just a straight forward selling website? Am I missing the point?

Calvinsmam · 21/02/2019 23:53

I really like it.
I like the foundation, the retinol serum and the powder.
I am desperate for a cleanser though and they feel like they’ve been out of stock forever, I’m going to have to buy a cheap one somewhere else to tide me over.

Calvinsmam · 21/02/2019 23:54

I use the retinol serum autumn I really like it.
I think it would be an easy introduction to retinol as it’s very moisturising

Teatreealoe · 21/02/2019 23:57

I'm also a bit confused, I was under the impression you can only buy their products as a subscribed member, so why put a "non member" RRP on that it's never going to be actually sold for? Surely that's just telling fibs to make it look like your getting an amazing deal?
I keep seeing it pop up on fb and I'm definitely intrigued but not 100% on how it works so wouldn't feel comfortable signing up yet!

needtonamechange2 · 22/02/2019 00:06

I love everything I've had but the false lash mascara and the amazing sleep oil are my favourites. I also really llove the candles, the everyday make up, the lip oil the double cleanser.

LaurenOrdering · 22/02/2019 00:18

You can buy the products if you are not a BP member however you have to recommended retail price. Being a member allows you to buy the product at wholesale price.
Marcia Kilgore (Bliss Spa & Labs, Soap & Glory, Soaper Duper & FitFlop) gets the same factories who produce the leading high end expensive cosmetics/skincare to make the products for her in minimal packaging, she has minimal advertising mainly relying on social media & word of mouth, no retail overheads.
So basically you are getting luxury products at a very low price.

Teatreealoe · 22/02/2019 00:25

Aah got it, Thanks. Might have to have another look into it then!

BrendasUmbrella · 22/02/2019 01:55

I got a three month membership as a Christmas gift.

My favourite so far is the retinol hand cream. It's light and absorbs quickly. I ordered two more this month. (Partly because the apricot cleansing balm I want to try has been out of stock.) I also really like the Jeju night cream I got with extra allowance from an IG post.

The clay cleanser didn't work for me because I have very dry skin, probably one to avoid if your skin feels tight using face washes.

ToftheB · 22/02/2019 06:30

I’m a fan. I’ve tried a fair amount of the makeup, and I really like most of it - especially the tinted moisturiser, the shimmerbar highlighters and the little brow pomade pots. I think the skincare might be a bit ‘emperors new clothes’ - lots of impressive descriptions, fewer active ingredients... but I’m fairly cynical about most skincare and, to be fair, I do like the serums, cleanser and moisturisers I’ve tried (I just don’t think they’re as magical as the marketing and reviews would suggest!)

I’v dropped my membership down to £5/month as I’ve got most of the things I need now and that gives me plenty to buy replacements and occasional treats.

NightOwl101 · 22/02/2019 08:42

Thanks for the help. Another question though, so if you have a £100 limit and then buy say a foundation that's recommended price of £30 but details at £10, you then have to use £30 out of your £100 limit and do you have to pay the £10 on top of your subscription fee? I do want to try it but it seems much more complicated then it needs to be or maybe I just have a simple mind

Bodicea · 22/02/2019 08:46

Yes so you pay ten plus 30 is gone from your spending limit ( paid for by your subscriptions fee).

That’s why I think the easiest way to work out your real cost of each individual product is add the members cost plus rrp with the decimal point moved one place to the left.

So in that case is really is £13. Plus whatever postage.

ToftheB · 22/02/2019 08:47

Yes, you pay the ‘membership price’ for your items on top of the monthly subscription. I recommend you go and have a play on the website, you can put things into your bag and see how much you could get with your monthly allowance and how much it would actually cost you, all without actually going on to sign up or pay anything.

Calvinsmam · 22/02/2019 09:06

brendas

I’ve been put off the hand cream because I don’t use spf on my hands.

Almahart · 22/02/2019 09:16

I think the foundation and eyeliners are great. Candles also lovely. Stock control terrible though

Itsautumn · 22/02/2019 13:47

Thanks @calvinsmam!

similarminimer · 05/03/2019 20:13

Having been a big fan and recommended them on a number of threads, bought as gifts for friends erc.

I am now totally pissed off with them. I contacted them to let them know that my mother has had a terrible allergic reaction to one of their moisturisers (on high dose tablet steroids, skin blistering).
They sent a reply including
I'm afraid we are unable to refund products in these circumstances as they are not deemed to be faulty however as a goodwill gesture on this occasion, I've now credited your account with an additional £100 of spending limit to ensure you and your mother are not feeling like you've missed out

So I have the opportunity to spend extra money on their products - how generous, thanks a lot! It just seems so mean spirited not to refund the £10 for the product when I have spent 100s and 100s with them. Shan't give them another penny or any more free publicity. Up yours Beauty Pie

Fullfatlatte · 05/03/2019 20:27

Intrigued as to what the cost of P&P is please? Thank you

PalindromicUser · 05/03/2019 20:28

I got really fed up with the stock issues. The products were ok but not amazing enough to justify the cost of the membership plus the real cost plus postage. I spend a reasonable amount on skincare but not luxury brands money.

I said all this in feedback to them when I cancelled and I got this incredibly patronising response about the difficulty of making enough stock when the products are super luxury and we have to carefully hand-source each one Hmm

I don’t see how it’s so difficult when you’ve already decided on the formula and been selling it...
