Boots Number 7 moisturiser - which one?

I have a “minimalist” skincare regime of which Marie Kondo would be proud, which involves washing my face with water in the shower or DD’s La Roche Posay when I can be arsed, and then slapping on No 7 Protect & Perfect Intense day cream (and the matching serum when I can be arsed). I’ve come to the end of a pot and realised that I’ve been using this stuff for the best part of a decade and am now 48 so maybe should move up from the mature duck egg version to the very mature salmon pink next one up, even though the duck egg matches my bedroom better. I’m sure Boots used to do suggested age bandings but they now seem very shy about mentioning them. What do more informed people reckon I should be using?

Well it depends on your skin. Is it dry, combination or oily? Do you have lines or wrinkles and if so where?

I buy what suits my skin, not what age it says on the pot. I find moisturisers aimed at 60 year olds (my age) far too rich and greasy. They just sit on my skin and don't get absorbed. I like Protect and Perfect products as they are light, smell nice and suit my skin.

I'm a little older than you and still using the duck egg ones. I did ask last time I bought some (a few months ago) and the assistant laughed and said I was nowhere near ready for salmon pink yet. She said it's designed for very mature skin, so late 60s onwards.

It’s probably combination - it was very spotty in my teens. Skin is terrible in many ways but since duck egg seems to be absorbing nicely at the mo I think I’ll stick with that.

Thanks all. I had a sudden moment of doubt.

The website suggests:-
Protect and Perfect is 30 - 45
Lift and Luminate is 45 - 60
Restore and Renew is 60+

But I jumped from P&P to R&R. I had a very early menopause and my skin changed drastically, so I felt the R&R suited it's needs better.
