Microdermabrasion

Has anyone tried this recently and what effect did it have on your skin?
I'm 49 and generally have good skin. Recently though I've noticed a small area of pigmentation on one cheek and more noticeable pores and fine lines. I look after my skin and have a good diet but don't drink enough water.
I wondered if microdermabrasion would help someone like me.
Thanks

I have it from time to time. My beauty therapist advised against a course of 6 or whatever for me, because my skin is ok. I use it as a kind of booster, to unblock pores and exfoliate etc. Its meant to make your skin really smooth and feel great when putting on makeup but personally I don't notice a difference there, possibly because I look after my skin well anyway. But I like how it makes spots come out! I think it would help your pigmentation, and definitely your pores. Not sure about fine lines- I know it's supposed to be good for those but I've not noticed a difference, and really i don't get why exfoliation would sort them anyway.

I've had it a few times, I like it. It makes my skin look brighter and you should see the gunk that comes out of the pores 😁 However, it does make my skin more sensitive and I had a bad reaction when I had it during a break out - I would only do it if my skin was quite calm.

If it's pigmentation and large pores that bother you then you should go for something like microneedling rather than microdermbrasion x

Thanks for your replies.
I did have it done once, but it was years ago (and my skin was good then) but I can't remember the effect it had. I never bother with normal facials, as I deep cleanse my face myself daily and don't feel a facial adds anything.

You're right about normal facials - waste of money IMO
