How long does it take you to do your nails?

I’ve not been doing my nails properly for long but by heck it takes ages!
I’m an ex biter and so my cuticles aren’t great and take a LOT of care.

Started removing nail polish this evening and by the time I was ready to put the new polish on an hour had passed, polish is now planned for tomorrow.

Is this ridiculous, tomorrow will also be a nightmare because I’m right handed and doing my right hand will take for bloody ever! 😂

Please tell me I’m not alone.....

Sounds excessive but if they needed the tlc then they needed it. I take about an hour. That's base coat, 2 coats and top coat.

If it's the full cuticle tidying, shaping job with dark polish requiring very careful application then an hour. If the shaping and cuticles are already ok and using a pale polish where precision isn't so important then I can do it in 10 mins (basecoat, two colour costs, topcoat, drying drops).

I need drying drops. What exactly do you do with them?

Meet0nTheledge · 18/02/2019 09:17

They are from OPI in a little dropper bottle, you just put a couple of drops on after the topcoat to make it even faster drying. I use Seche Vite which is pretty fast anyway, but with both together they are properly hard after a couple of minutes. They were quite expensive though and mine are about to run out so I'm trying to decide whether I can justify a new bottle.

Fake shellac takes me about 15 mins for base coat, two coats of colour and top coat. I file before a bath, then tidy cuticles (mine are bad too) in bath and afterwards. Then I wipe, paint and wipe in about 15 mins.

Hmmm, I definitely need to up my game!

@Meet0nTheledge do you put the Opi drops on before or after the Seche Vite?

After. I don't pause between any of my coats, as soon as I have finished the 10th nail its back to the first for the next coat. The drops are slightly messy but evaporate quickly.

Thank you, I do one hand at a time as my left hand is very hard to control whilst splattering polish all over my right nails 😂

2 mins.

Nail polish removed, flick of neutral colour, done. Don't bother with cuticles, soaking etc, ain't nobody got time for that shit Grin
