Hi. Feeling tired, old and just a tiny bit withered amd by god, do I look it! I’m 44 ,and never seem to have time to myself for myself but that changes now!! I’ve lost 1.5 stone since autumn , I’m a proportioned sizr14, I’m 5’7 and I feel like a frump. Any suggestions. I really want to try to get my mojo back from skincare to make up to hair, clothes... everything! Any suggestions much appreciated . Thanks for reading

Well done on your weight loss! You are still young, 44 is young! I would suggest a hair cut and colour and deep conditioning treatment and a gel manicure and pedicure. Go to a large Superdrug and check out all the new make-up ranges there are some fine new brands and a lot cheaper than department stores.

Thanks for reply and the compliment . I guess I work full time outside of home too , commute for over two hours daily and one of my children has autism and I’m overwhelmed by it all ! You are right.. hair and nails first and then some lovely glowy new make up. Need new clothes badly .. at that in between stage of a little too big, a little too small!! I’ll wait until o have another half stone gone . Perhaps an hour to myself every weekend would also be a good start

Here’s what I do:
I take biotin, vit D3, B12, probiotics and omega3. Evening primrose is good too, but it doesn’t agree with me at all.
I wake up before the household. I have my coffee in peace, a glass of hot water and lemon and take my vitamins.
I have a shower, I wash my face with this.
I use this toner. I closes my pores, it works for me.
I use this serum and this eye cream.
As moisturiser, I use this.
My skin is dry and I’m anemic, so without a bit of foundation I look like death not quite warmed up. I just bought this, it works for me.

Then I use an eyeliner, mascara and if I look particularly drained, a cream blusher so old I have no idea where it’s from, the writing is all off.

I have one lipstick, it doesn’t look like anything, it’s just a bit...well, don’t know how to describe it, like a lip gloss for grown ups, maybe?

I wear dresses, I just pick one the night before and throw it on. Black, navy, dark grey. I have a couple of mad coloured scarves, boots and I’m out of the door.

I have my eyebrows threaded every 6 weeks, haircut every 2-3? months maybe. But I should do better, I normally go when I catch a glimpse of myself in the shop windows and realise it’s me, not some random woman who is in desperate need of a haircut. I cycle everywhere, so I’m permanently sporting a helmet head.

I should do my manicure/pedicure more often, but I don’t.
HTH.

Well done on your weight loss! I’m trying but failing at that.

What about your wellbeing? I feel better now I am doing regular exercise- well, yoga! Doing a half hour session a few times a week- time for me, just as you would like.

Like a PP, I keep to a limited pallet of colours, so it’s easier to look pulled together. I use black as an accent now, not the main colour as it’s not so flattering as my hair is going quite grey. I use Pinterest to keep track of my ideas.

I posted something similar recently the advice I followed in the end was haircut, colour, curl lashes, get eyebrows and face threaded, small bit of makeup like blusher, lippie and groom brows plus jewellery rather than none at all. Wear perfume and use handcream. Wear your better clothes out, as I had a real habit of keeping stuff for special occasions and wearing crap every day. I also got my coats fixed, debobbled and dry cleaned (all at cleaners) as again, I was looking so tatty whereas now they all look brand new. It has definitely given me some oomph though I'm always open to new ideas!

I would get your eyebrows tinted/microbladed, my sister did this and it transformed her face (in a good way) and made her look much younger and fresher.

Watching for ideas, I'm 40 and a tired hot mess.
