Keeping warm on chilly evenings

My first post on S&B so please be gentle!

I'm mid 30's, size 8-10, 5'7" with long torso rather than legs. Small on top, small waist, slightly wider hips and chunkier thighs (pear shape ish I presume).

Last year in spring and on chilly summer days/evenings when I was visiting Scotland I always turned to my trusty denim jacket. Fits beautifully, goes with everything from maxi dresses to skinnies.

I don't want to do that again this year though as it was sometimes too hot to wear it but too cold without. So I'm looking for something that will go with absolutely everything that is small/light enough for me to carry around chucked over my bag to keep my arms warm. The type of thing you can chuck on when it's sweltering outside but chilly when you go into a restaurant or museum I'm not much of a cardigan type of person and swing from jeans, baggy t-shirt and converse to shirt dresses, maxi skirts and everything in between.

Does such a thing exist?! You all seem wonderfully clued up and I'm just not.

Jersey blazer? Structured like a denim jacket but softer and warmer like a cardigan.

Yay! Brilliant suggestion. Thank you so much. Off to Google!
