Best long-sleeved vests for a long, slim 4 month old!

Hi Mums,

I'm hoping that some of you might be able to help. My 4 month old son is a very long baby (in fact, he is off the centile chart for his age), but he is also quite slim, so we're finding it a bit of a challenge when clothing him! An added complication is that he wears reusable nappies, which are quite bulky and therefore increase the length of his torso.

We like him to wear long-sleeved vests with trousers/leggings, and he currently wears size 3-6 months in these, but due to the above issues, we find that we are sometimes having to use two extenders to allow vests to fit, which seems a bit ridiculous!

We've tried him in bigger sizes, but these come up too big on the arms, waist, and chest, although the length is usually quite good.

So, my question is, if anyone else has experienced similar clothes sizing issues with their baby, did they discover any particular brands or shops whose clothes fitted their baby better?

Thanks in anticipation xx

I've found John Lewis stuff to be quite long in the body.
You might also want to look at Little Green Radicals in-line - gorgeous but not cheap, although 50% off at the moment.
Their stuff is designed to accommodate cloth nappies so cut quite wide around the bum.

We found Gap to be long in the body and roomy enough for cloth nappies .

H&M vests worked well for us, I loved the bright colours too and they washed well and lasted us three babies.

I used to use vest extenders on my long ds with a washable nappy. Try ebay.

I've found primark the best place for our long skinny baby, next is good as well. Using a brand that's designed for cloth nappies might help though, I believe H&M are?

Thanks everyone for your responses! At least a couple of shops there that I may not have considered - will definitely give them a go xx

Little lamb vest extenders (also have tall children in reusable nappies)

Ps have you discovered Frugi clothes they are cut for cloth

Agree H&M vests are great for long thin babies! Jojo Maman Bebe very much the opposite.
