Help me stop wearing converse

I only even seem to wear buy/wear converse. I need some inspiration I've always wore a work uniform so now I'm on maternity leave I'm struggling. Clothing wise during the day I'm not very adventurous purely down to laziness tends to be skinny jeans and blouse/T-shirt/jumpers 90% of the time usually from Zara.
I'm after some reasonable day time shoe alternatives.
I also have size 7 feet so feel a bit clumpy in ankle boots.

I have this problem too ! I always wear converse . My DD (18) says I should try Stan Smiths trainers or Golf le fleurs but I suspect she'd like to wear them . My friend has a pair of Air and Grace trainers which are gorgeous but very expensive ..

Toms?

PersonaNonGarter · 15/02/2019 23:33

We can’t help you if you don’t say what you want ish. Do you want to be trendier? smarter? More weather proof?

I'm a Converse girl too. Love em! But I've recently bought a couple of pairs of FitFlop shoes.

Their ranges are vastly more varied and attractive now than when they first started out, and so bloody comfortable

Just bought a lovely trendy pair of slip-on trainers from them in the sale

Supergas

Vans? I prefer converse though 😊

Grapetree · 16/02/2019 01:05

Stan smiths or perhaps black old skool vans or gazelles

I used to wear converse a lot, until I discovered the aforementioned
I have size 6.5 feet and now feel converse make my feet look huge and long, not as flattering as the others

I have been wearing converse for the last 20 years... I'm clinging onto a bit of 90s retro indie. I might need a bit of 'moving on' help too!

Converse used to be way more comfortable than they are now, also.

Nike high tops
Vans authentic
Dr martens

I used to wear Converse until I bought some puma suedes - so much more comfy! I also followed MN advice and got some loafers, which I now wear much more than I thought I would because they lift any outfit to look a bit more ‘put together’.

I also have size 7 feet so have to be careful with ankle boots - Chelsea boots in any style make my legs look like golf clubs. Boots that come up past the ankle a little bit look much better.
