40 and suddenly look like shit. Could I get a skin intervention?

My skin has never really troubled me, but since turning forty it seems to have gone downhill fast Sad
I have a minimal skincare routine, cheap-but-with-spf moisturiser, scrub off make up with micellar water at night. I feel like I should be buying The Ordinary, and maybe retinol, and serums??
Hoping the pics will show all my lovely lumps and bumps, red veins(?) and new under-eye wrinkles where I store my eyeshadow...
Any suggestions please?

If you're wanting flannels, these are the shiz in my humble opinion: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0784WRJ8Z/?tag=mumsnetforum-21

I use oil to cleanse my skin with and these flannels (plus hot water) get my skin much cleaner than their cotton counterparts.

Kaldefotter, sorry to bother you again, or anyone else in the know.

My ordinary stuff has arrived. Yay! I've cleansed my face and it was dry before I applied a 'few drops' of the Alpha Arbutin and then applied the Azelaic Acid cream. I didn't apply a lot. I applied a few drops of the Alpha Arbutin on the areas I needed. The cream doesn't make my skin feel wet. It's fully absorbed. I do have dry skin on my nose and chin. Should I apply a night cream?
Will my skin peel with these?
Should I apply my eye cream?

Hi carrottopper, it's all totally up to you, depending on how your skin feels. If your skin feels comfortable, leave it be. If it's feels tight or dry after applying your products, then put moisturiser on top.

If you want to use your eye cream, apply that first before the alpha arbutin.

Your skin definitely shouldn't peel.
