Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream smells of...

Can anyone help me decide if my Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream has somehow gone off? I’ve done a Google search but no help there.

It’s my first time using it and all I can smell is...yeast. It’s like when my husband does his annual pre-Christmas batch of home brew.

I use this and have just had a sniff. I would describe as slightly floral smell. Trying to detect yeasty smell but can’t!

Definitely not floral for mine. I think I’d pick up floral straight away as I’m not keen so I guess mine has gone a bit wrong. Shame as it’s new, not like it’s been in the cupboard for an ages waiting to come out.

I used PCMC a few years ago , it didn't suit my skin and one of the things that put me off was the smell, it was sort of "wheaty" (not yeasty, more grain) I know mine was not off , it was a QVC kit .

I do though love the PCMC night cream, my skin is older now so it suits and it smells like those little cleansing pads in the blue tubs "Quickies" (blast from the 80s)

I have a very strong sense of smell. I bought some as a gift recently and DH has used a sample sized tube of it a few months ago, so not used it myself but have sniffed it in the pot and on someone else. It smells 'expensive', slightly floral and has a light fresh scent overall.

Nothing heavy like a wheat or yeast type smell. I wonder if it varies from batch to batch? Seems unlikely though.

Is it the night or day version? They do one with spf in it too. The ones I've smelt are the original day version.

I hate the stink of this stuff. I think it smells like cheap body spray that teenage boys used to douse themselves in in the 90s.

I have the day cream. I like it but the thing that does put me off buying it again (apart from the price!) is the smell. I don’t smell it once it’s on, and I decided it was simply down to it not being particularly scented compared to other creams so I was getting the actual chemicals smell. I’d say mine smelled like ozone.

In any case, smell aside, it’s a no from me because it was very greasy and I’ve woken up with a breakout. Just what I need in the busiest work period of the year when I meet about a hundred people a day. Can’t even go to Gucci for a half balaclava to cover it up...
