Enlighten me about hair products

The last I looked, as a teenager decades ago, there was mousse and spray and wax. Things must have moved on!

I have long, fairly straight, heavy hair but I do nothing to it and I am starting to feel that the Mortician look doesn’t flatter me any more. In particular, I’d like some lift in the front that also disguises the parting. If possible, without looking artificial (no helmet hair or Brilcream!) and without taking much time (two small kids and a full time job). Does anything exist nowadays that could help?

I would suggest a hair powder like Aveda Pure Abundance. You sprinkle it on the roots and rub it in - it creates lift in a few seconds, and lasts all day.

Charles Worthington instant root concealing powder. It will conceal your parting. It's developed to conceal roots on coloured hair, cover grey or whatever but it thickens the hair slightly giving it more body and will soften the look of your parting.
