Pearl jewellery - help please

I know nothing about jewellery , real or costume so need some help please .
I would like a necklace and bracelet in a creamy colour to wear to either a wedding or a special dinner .

Where would I find something like this ?

I’d like a decent quality but not ‘real’ I guess as they would be too expensive .
They will rarely be worn .

Etsy, if you don’t mind shopping online. They have lots of freshwater and faux pearl options, with a wide range of prices. Freshwater (cultured) pearls aren’t necessarily super expensive. You might also look at glass moonstones or opals if you want something pale but not necessarily pearls. You can get faux pearl or glass “moonstone” bead necklaces for a few pounds or splash out on something fancier. Just check seller reviews and where they’re shipping from.

John Lewis have freshwater pearl necklaces from about £90, if you prefer to see what you’re buying. Accessorize have a few faux pearl options at the budget end, but mostly pendants rather than ropes.

Or, if you have time to browse, you could also look in charity shops. They often have display cases with costume/semi-precious jewellery.

Thank you Feawen - lots of ideas and useful info . You have been a great help .

I quite like th3 charity shop idea - they might come with a bit of history and I could donate them back when I have finished with them !

The odd time that I have looked at Etsy I have been overwhelmed, but I’ll give that a go too .

Have a look at liberty in love. It's a bridal jewellery website but lots of beautiful options appropriate for any occasion, especially earrings, and in a range of prices.

These are good and made in the Uk.

Lovely quality - I might own quite a few pieces - and can sometimes be found cheaper online elsewhere. Real freshwater pearls, properly knotted, look fab.
