Please help me sort my spotty skin

I’m 32 and my skin has got randomly worse over the last two years. I’m on the progesterone only pill. I used to get spots on my forehead only, now it’s forehead, chin, and also on my cheeks which I never got spots on before, ever!
I stated using Tropic cleaner toner and moisturiser a year ago but no improvements. Also tried their green acne mask.
Started using Mario badesco starter kit at Xmas which felt much more drying on my skin so thought that’d really work but alas... still spots although my skin is less oily. My spots are either red and sore and never come to a head, or squeezy whiteheads which then take ages to heal.

First of all, have you considered changing your pill or method of contraception? It’s likely that the pill is causing the worsening of your acne.
I’m 37 and still suffer from spots- it’s a bummer! I’ve seen great improvements recently by doubling cleansing- I use the lipid balancing cleansing oil from Medik8 and then a gentle cleaner- I like the Ren rose gel cleanser. Also, the Paula's choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliator which has really helped my skin. Good luck! Xx

Thank you - I can only take the progesterone only pill as can’t take oestrogen due to migraine so there aren’t any other options for me to try annoyingly! Thanks for your suggestions though

I'm fairly sure there's more than one type of POP though, OP? I've taken at least two different kinds over the years. One (Nori-something?) made me fat, spotty, weepy and depressed. The other (Cerazette) cleared my skin and I lost the weight and depression. It may be worth asking about a swap?

I agree with the others, it's more than likely your POP. If you're not on Cerazette it's worth a try. Unfortunatley, progesterone can cause acne, even the Mirena coil, with its small progesterone dose can cause acne.

Other than that, I'll say what I always say: see your GP. Acne is a medical issue, OTC products have a very poor treatment success rate.

Meanwhile, try the Efaclar range from La Roche Posay, or something like Paula's Choice 2% salicylic acid lotion.
