DD10 smelly scalp - please help!

We’ve just returned from a holiday where my DD 10 has swam everyday, spending a lot of time with wet hair. She’s developed a smelly scalp, which we can’t get rid of. I initially blamed it on the pillow at the hotel but it’s remained since we got home.
We usually wash with Alberto Balsam, or Elvive, she doesn’t have dandruff and washes frequently 2-3 times per week.its definitely not a personal hygiene issue from lack of washing.I’ve used tresme cleansing shampoo On Her hair tonight and washed it really well, it looks clean but smells as bad as before we washed it.
Can anyone suggest anything please?

It might be a fungal infection, they’re common if you’ve been warm and damp. I think you can get a shampoo called nizoral which works for fungal infections! I’ve used it on animals with fungal skin infections but it’s a human shampoo. I think you’d probably need to use it for a little while as fungal infections are a pain to treat. Is she itching? Flaking?

Yes she has a fungal infection. You need to see the pharmacist to get the shampoo and it'll go very quickly.

JellycatElfie she’s not itching or flaking. I’ve just googled fungal infection and I’ll give the nizoral a go. Thanks!
