Weight gain tips?

My weight has fluctuated over the years, I’m currently a (short) size 6 and a normal weight for my height, however I have lost the hourglass figure that I used to have at a size 8/10.

My breasts are non existent now, my thighs have narrowed (used to be muscular and thicker) and my hips/bum have shrunk. I know you can’t spot gain weight or expect surgical-like results, however I think I might feel better if I eat more and start weight training to build muscle on my lower half.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Increase your healthy fats and protein. Don't increase sugar/carbs as they can cause bloat (especially round your middle). Lift weights, squats, will build muscle. There's no magic formula and as you said can't make it go on where you want it, but exercise is your friend here. And sugar creates puffiness (think spare tyre round middle, double chin) obviously not just on those areas but best to be avoided.

Protein shakes and if you want to how about trying weight training to build muscle.

Visit a personal trainer they will tailor you a programme and also advise on the good fats and proteins and the right carbs to help feed your body and put on good muscle weight. And it will also get your curves back :) x

Increase portion sizes (a bit) of healthy foods.
Don't leave out carbs but go for wholegrain bread/rice/pasta.
Avocado, peanut butter.

Thank you allFlowers

Admittedly I have been trying to increase my food intake but have been reaching for junk food, sugar and carbs - so do need to rework my diet as you suggest! I have definitely been seeing that puffiness mentioned.

Hoping I can find a good personal trainer - I feel a bit embarrassed going to the gym as I have no idea what I’m doing.
