The ordinary foundation

Has anyone tried either of the foundations from the ordinary? I’m using make up forever HD at the moment but it’s not exactly cheap so I’m looking for a more budget option and these caught my eye

Yes, I am using the serum foundation at the moment. I think it's pretty good for the price, and you only need a tiny bit for decent if light coverage. I think that it is slightly matte, but that is compared to the tinted moisturisers which I usually prefer now I'm getting older (mid-40s).

Things I like:
quick to apply
as good as many much more expensive foundations

good packaging for travelling
good range of colours
cheap as chips

I usually use NARS tinted moisturiser or an Estee Lauder tinted moisturiser in the summer.

So, not mind-blowing for me, but a good everydayer and cheap enough to give it a punt.

I did for a bit. The colour match wasn’t quite right for me but my main gripe was that it seemed to settle in any dry patches (I have dry skin). But I can’t fault the coverage - sheer and light. The formula is very runny which you might not like.

I might give it a go. Thanks both

Meh. It's just okay, imo. But I really like their primer.

I use the coverage one and for the price it is very good. It doesn't have great staying power though, so fine for a night out but probably wouldn't last a full day at work or out and about.

GemmeFatale · 15/02/2019 20:34

Ah. I really want staying power.

Maybe I should start a new thread. Recommend your foundation if it lasts forever, looks like your skin but better and doesn’t cost a fortune.

I have the serum one and I think it stays on quite well considering the light coverage and the cost - it’s my current go-to.

I absolutely love the Serum Foundation, I used to try ever new foundation trying to find the holy grail, now I've found it. I use one drop with one of those large toothbrush style brushes and just buff it in, a light dusting of powder and I'm done. I like it because it is thin but highly pigmented.

Bought the serum foundation in two of the palest shades. Both oxidised and went totally orange on my skin.

V disappointing as the coverage was nice, light and dewy.

I have the Ordinary serum foundation. I find it ok. My favourite budget foundation is Bourjois Healthy Skin Serum foundation which is excellent.
