Micellar water and face wash?

AngelaStorm73 · 12/02/2019 20:45

So am I right to use micellar water in the evening to remove makeup, not wash my face (!) and then put night cream on (and eye cream)
In morning (in shower) face wash as usual, then moisturise and makeup.
Does that sound right? I've always used wipes and washed my face in the evening too but worried it's driving my skin out? Plus I always get a wet top somehow and heard micellar water was good?
Thanks

I use micellar water to remove my make-up then wash my face with facial wash (and use either a konjac sponge or a dermaflannel). I would only use just micellar water if I wasn't wearing make-up.

Oh ok. It says on there to just use that. I will try with face wash too tonight and go from there as got makeup on today. Definitely need to give the wipes up though!

I do exactly what you said, every day... not sure if it's right but seems to not be doing me any harm!

You can use micellar water then skip straight to moisturiser but make sure you rinse in between, preferably with a flannel or muslin cloth. Micellar isn’t designed to be left on the skin and can be drying (but otherwise is brilliant stuff).

Thank you!

This is inaccurate. It's fine to leave micellar water on your skin. It doesn't need washing off (that's the whole point!)

If you find it drying, you aren't using micellar water suited to your specific skin type. It isn't one size fits all. Just like with moisturiser, you need to choose for your skin type. With micellar water, I always buy French brands as they tend to be light years ahead of everyone else (and often cheaper) as the French have been using micellar water for many years and it's only recently that the rest of the world has jumped on the bandwagon (and started charging a premium for it).

I use garnier Michellar on cotton odd to remove my eye make up, then wash my face with water and a facecloth to remove foundation, then use a skin toner. You don't need to wash off michellar water.
