Dr SEbagh serum repair hyaluronic acid. What am I doing wrong?

I had this in my Liberty advent calendar and am just starting to use it. I have just finished Estée Lauder advanced night repair so am substituting the Dr SEbagh instead. So I am cleansing, toner, dr SEbagh and then day or night cream. I am using it morning and night, under my moisturiser. Ive used for a few days now. I am 40odd, dry skin, but no skin issues.

But it is leaving my skin quite tight. I am also having to use more moisturiser in the morning as otherwise my skin is too dry to put foundation on and it doesn’t spread and looks a bit cakey (I use YSL touché eclat foundation, which isn’t at all heavy).

So, what am I doing wrong? The reviews are amazing!

this is it

Are you putting it on slightly damp skin? I always apply a facial mist before applying hyaluronic acid then I put moisturiser on straight away.

Hyaluronic acid dries my skin out too for some reason. Misting with water helped a bit but it was so frustrating not getting the results everyone else does that I've given up and switched to oils instead.

WellTidy · 12/02/2019 19:58

I will try dampening my skin and see whether it makes a difference. I am using moisturiser straight away already. But this is definitely worth a go, thanks.

Villanelly, is your skin dry too? If it is, what oils do you like?

Hi WellTidy, I have had the same reaction to this serum as you. It does say it tightens the skin. I’ve had it twice in the Liberty calendar and there’s still an unopened bottle from the 2017 calendar! In fact, that’s part of why I didn’t but the 2018 calendar as I thought a lot of the cost related to that product, which just didn’t work for me.

WellTidy · 12/02/2019 20:42

It is so disappointing Maths! I Thought it would be one of the calendar highlights, I would would never buy something like on, I saw it as a real treat. My skin doesn’t react to anything so this is really unusual. I would be happy with tightening, but it isn’t a pleasant tightening, more like an incredible hulk need to break myself out of my own skin! Fingers crossed that misting helps a little.

I’m disappointing in the Aurelia eye treatment from the calendar. I reacted v badly to it. Skin all red and sore

Housewife2010 · 14/02/2019 12:53

I've been using the Aurelia treatment diligently. Wasn't it supposed to erase 5 years after a month or so of using it? I don't think it has.

WellTidy · 14/02/2019 13:36

The Aurelia has done nothing for me either. No eye cream ever has, so I am not surprised! I am super gutted about the Dr Sebagh though, as I did expect miracles.

The roller ball never worked on my aurelia eye cream. Angry
