Wearing knee high boots with dresses

I tend to cover my chunky legs with trousers or dresses with long boots.

I'm tall, medium build, 50s. What dress shapes would look good on me teamed with knee-high boots?

If you're tall then a midi dress with long boots looks great I think, either a-line or slightly drop waist, possibly dip-hem (longer at the back) ... I'm thinking of a daytime look with long sleeves. Wish I was tall enough for this look!

I wear knee length a line mostly, and through the winter knee high boots.

I've been wearing knee high boots with all skirts since it turned chilly.

Knee length pencil dresses, flowy midi dresses and shorter a line skirts

Fwiw, i think asymmetrical hemlines are really unflattering
