Bit like this

Obviously age, or lack of it, helps but products? Which ones? Why don't I look like that?

highlighter I guess - I can't manage it though

PetitFilou1 · 04/07/2007 15:29

EASY! She has tons of make up on though including probably Bobbi Brown shimmer brick, Prescriptives Magic Lotion/potion (whatever is is called) that sort of thing, things with light reflecting particles

oliveoil · 04/07/2007 15:30

I am currently using this

dots on cheeks, chin and forehead

foundation as well on cheeks

Boots have 3 for 2 atm as well so you could get their Look Younger foundation, I forget the name

ThomCat · 04/07/2007 15:30

They are just sweaty mares

Sparkletastic · 04/07/2007 15:30

BeneFit Highbeam is v.g for this - just mix a bit with tinted moisturiser or foundation for all-over youthful glow or dob a few blobs on cheekbones / bridge of nose / just below far corners of eyebrows. Am also about to try Lilylolo mineral cosmetics on the recommendation of India Knight t'other night as she said it airbrushes you! I'll let you know my findings...

Tinker · 04/07/2007 15:31

Oh, that looks promising oo.

I need tons of make-up so am looking for names that work. What's a shimmer brick???

radiant glow foundation

Don't want to throw a spanner in the works but Josh Stone is about 18...

Tinker · 04/07/2007 15:32

Well, hmm, I could, biologically, be her mother, tis true.

Lol thomcat

I find highlighter v dangerous ground

maybe try a light-reflective foundation - rimmel have a good one, and a teeny touch of elizabeth arden 24 hour cream- or vaseline for cheaper version. not too much or looks greasy. and no face powder.

oliveoil · 04/07/2007 15:34

I could if I was an early starter in the shagging stakes

PetitFilou1 · 04/07/2007 15:36

It is just blusher basically but in stripes of colour and with a different name, but it has a lot of pearl in it, so hence the shimmer
Also I recommend Clarins Energizing Morning Cream, think that gives you a slight gleam as well. You need to avoid overload though .......and none of this is going to make you look 18, sadly!

Sparkletastic · 04/07/2007 15:36

Tinker - I'm a total make-up bore so loving you for starting this up! Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks are top, but you can't beat Mac for really good quality gear at not outrageous prices. Benefit is great for fun stuff - I would never be without Benetint which gives you a natural rosey flush even when otherwise looking haggard... Number 7 also good but it deosn't meet my need for luvverley packaging and the feeling of treating myself - more of a useful purchase than a fun one IYSWIM.

Agree with ThomCat - all my attempts at 'glowng dewiness' general come out in photos as 'pre-menopausally flushed'

Tinker · 04/07/2007 15:43

Oh, more stuff, more names. Thank you.

oliveoil · 04/07/2007 15:43

I have used Benefit highbeam eons ago (pre children when I probably didn't need it) and it is good

but the Boots one is great, and only £10

LucyLamb · 04/07/2007 15:45

Oh I look like that a lot of the time - what with my hot flushes and my oily skin !!

And for free !

I spend all my time dabbing at myself with powder to stop myself shining - and now you tell me it is a good look ??

bakedpotato · 04/07/2007 15:46

this does exactly that, is cheap, and also smells gorgeous

binkleandflip · 04/07/2007 15:47

Lucy, Origins do a really good oil that blots up excess oil (if that makes sense) it works excellently (I have really oily skin) think it's got camphor in or something and you can blob it on under make-up or over or with none, just as you need it.

BBBleedingGumsMurphy · 04/07/2007 15:48

benefit dandelion is good

NatalieJane · 04/07/2007 15:58

I am using this at the moment with a light dusting of loose powder on top just to stop me glowing in the dark. It really does stay put all day, doesn't crease, shift or come off on clothes, and it leaves a lovely shimmery finish (with the powder on top, without powder, it is almost mirror finish!)
