Sugaring-hair removal

Anyone tried sugaring? Better than waxing? Meant to be less painful but I am reserving judgement on that! Suffer from terrible bikini line shaving rash and wondering if sugaring may be the answer...

I've done both a lot and found sugaring and waxing to cause round about the same level of pain I'm afraid.

Sugaring seems a bit gentler in the skin though and is loads easier to clean up (just wipe over with warm water rather than scrubbing with oily wipes). I even used to make my own sugaring concoction from sugar, water, lemon juice and oil and used homemade strips of cotton to remove. All really easy, cheap as chips and very environmentally friendly.

Having said all of that, I epilate now and have done fur a few years. To do from scratch I'd say it's the same pain level as waxing and sugaring but if you keep on top of it it's not v painful and is about a billion times quicker and less faffy than the alternatives!

Oops, I've just seen you're talking about bikini line. Both sugaring and waxing work well IME but NOT epilation. Good god. Even the thought of epilating my bikini line makes my eyes water.

Haha! Thanks, thinking about legs too but Dont suffer so much with shaving rash on legs. I have tried an epilator in the past but did struggle I have to admit Grin. If sugaring is similar level of pain as waxing I could probably cope with that though.

I have tried sugaring but not been very successful. Lots of stray hairs but perhaps it’s me.

With waxing, I don’t like the grow back in between.

So, I shave regularly (more or less as part of my daily shower routine) using hair conditioner as opposed to soap or cream. It works for me and much softer result. And I go well beyond the bikini line, if you can read in between the lines!
