Interesting perfumes from Boots?

I have masses of Boots points and vouchers to spend. I'd rather buy perfume that anything else, but I don't really go for high street stuff. Think more Tauer and 4160T niche indie stuff. I do already have Stash and also Liz Earle No 15, both lovely. Any hidden gems that I don't know about that I could.get? Thanks :)

Boots and interesting perfumes are not normally mentioned in the same sentence. They specialise in mainstream mass market; definitely not Andy Tauer. They are okay on skincare.

calilark · 08/02/2019 20:20

No I know- that is why I was hoping that someone might come along with a hidden gem that had passed me by!! :)

I adore the Narciso Rodriguez perfumes, they are really unusual and worth a sniff. And anything by Tom Ford....Black Orchid is divine and not something you smell on lots of people.

I think Boots sell both?

MontanaSkies · 08/02/2019 20:29

Do you like any of the mainstream Chanels? I'm saving my points for the No 19 pure parfum. I haven't found anything else really exciting at Boots.

gaggiagirl · 08/02/2019 20:32

Would you be interested in rihanna rouge.? .. If they sell it. It's SO nice and lasts beautifully and smells really expensive.

calilark · 08/02/2019 20:32

Ooh the Narciso Rodriguez might be an option, I used to love that. Reminds me of an ex boyfriend though but it was a long time ago!

I wonder whether they expand their TF range in the summer, maybe they might stock NP? I haven't tried White Patchouli but it sounds good on Fragrantica - any thoughts? Black Orchid isn't my favourite, and I've never found a Chanel that I like other than Coromandel unfortunately!

I have a miniature of Rogue, you've just reminded me!!

If you like Tom Ford NP, you might like the ol' classic 4711 cologne? Which is sold at Boots. Won't use up many of your points though! Smile

Donnadon346 · 08/02/2019 22:40

Zadig and Voltaire is a really unusual scent that not many people wear, I am always complimented on my fragrance if I am wearing it. The top note is chestnut

Vinorosso74 · 08/02/2019 22:43

I like Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. I have seen it in their large stores. That would use up a lot of points! I currently have about £9 so way to go....

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 08/02/2019 22:46

I remember seeing a Gin & Tonic perfume in Boots if you want to smell like an old lush Grin

MooMinCow · 08/02/2019 23:20

OP, I’m in the same boat. Got over £100 of points and went into a large branch today to have a mooch and see if I wanted to splurge. I don’t like new perfumes either (they all smell sweet and samey). They did have quite a few of the Tom Ford fragrances, Chanel and some of the original Dior and Guerlain ones too. You can redeem the advantage points online, so maybe try some on elsewhere, then have a look if they’re on the Boots (rather crap) website?

calilark · 08/02/2019 23:35

I have two.bottles of the Zadig & Voltaire! They were selling them for £10 a pop in Falmouth Boots a couple of years ago so I grabbed them both in case they were discontinuing!

I wondered about a classic Guerlain, but I think the reformulation of Samsara is a but weak & feeble. Don't get on with Mitsouko. They were selling the Santal Royale online a while ago but it is disappeared and I am filled with regret!!!

Would you be interested in rihanna rouge.? .

Ah now Gaggiagirl - I smelt a quite nice smell on a lady in my lift. She said it was Rhianna Rouge - but whenever I try to find it I can only see Rhianna Rogue. Plus it did not smell like it.

Does Rouge and Rogue both exist ot which one is it???

Auldspinster · 10/02/2019 19:44

Rive Gauche?

ThanksItHasPockets · 10/02/2019 22:22

If you like Stash you might like TF Ombre Leather.

calilark · 12/02/2019 13:56

@ThanksItHasPockets (LOVE the username) that could definitely be a possibility. I had hoped for Noir de Noir, but they only have Noir/Noir pour Femme dammit!

OP posts:
calilark · 12/02/2019 13:56

@Deathraystare - it is Rogue, definitely. No Rouge exists!

Sali Hughes always raves about Rive Gauche.
