Just been looking at these on Amazon.

Has any one tried them?

Are they any good?

Is it a pain to find suitable shampoo/conditioner to use afterwards?

Thanks!

I use cocochoco, as long as you follow the instructions it's brilliant! I was worried the first time I used it, thinking I'd end up bald! Shouldn't have worried! Looks good after a rough dry and perfect after a quick straighten. I treat my hair around a 2/3 month interval. At £20 a pop good value - might be less if you haven't got thick, long hair!

Tip- make sure you have ultra hot straighteners Smile

Keratin/Brazilian blow dries are rubbish for your hair. That combination of strong chemicals and very high heat is damaging to your hair. It may look healthy but it isn’t great in the long term.

I was really disappointed in mine. It was supposed to be formaldehyde free but what they don't tell you is the chemicals can turn into formaldehyde. Also, it left my hair feeling really greasy. It does get rid of the frizz though. I know a couple of people who used them long term who stopped as their hair was breaking off.

I use one off Amazon, I've done it 6 times over the last 2 years, it's transformed my hair. I can now actually wear it down for the first time ever. Love it.

I haven't found it damaging it all, very careful to use the correct after care and I sleep with coconut oil on it once a week. I use my straighteners far less now then before.

Thanks for the replies, might give it a go. I’ve got thick coarse hair that seems to be going worse in meno.

I've been treating mine every 2/3 months for the last 2 years after having it done professionally. I'd say the home method is better! And my hair is in brill condition as I rarely use my straighteners!

iamme21 · 15/02/2019 21:39

Dizzi which one do you use?

Following! I'm wondering whether to take the plunge - I love having it done professionally but it doesn't last more that a month on my hair and i can't it more than twice a year...

I use Cocochoco from Amazon/EBay. I tried it after following an old thread and it was recommended multiple times. Works well for me.

I'm going to bite the bullet and order this. Two questions:

Which Cocochoco do you use - Gold/Original/Pure?

Do you use the clarifying shampoo every time? What if you only ever use sulphate free stuff anyway?

DizziLizzy · 12/03/2019 20:25

I've tried all versions- same results regardless. I like the Gold the least only because it seems to create more mess (ithey flake when you dry the product into your hair).

I've used sulphate free shampoo and conditioner before treatment and again made little difference.

Tip- apply in well ventilated room
