I know there are some eyebrow goddesses on.mumsnet and I need your help.

I had my eyebrows micro bladed today, shape fine but the colour is too dark and I look stupid! He's reaction hadn't helped, said I look like fu manchu ...

I know they will go down, but realistically how long?

I've been told no touching them, no water near them, no vaseline....

Is there anything I can do???? Sad

Don’t panic, I was you a month ago!! After 3 weeks they will have faded loads. Not washing your hair is pretty horrible but I managed 14 days, used dry shampoo and thankfully worked from home. Also you need to be super careful washing your face, and with make up etc. I freaked out the day after I had mine done, looked like I had cartoon eyebrows. I’m 4 weeks on and I have the opposite problem, they’ve faded too much!!

Chesneyhawkes1 · 05/02/2019 20:04

Don't panic I was you too. I looked like the little red one out of the angry birds for ages.

Luckily it was winter so I kept my hat on for 5 days til they faded.

JoyceDivision · 05/02/2019 20:06

I have to go to work tomorrow and I'll look stupid!.

Did you manage not washing hair Lilyrose?? I can wipe cleanser away from eyebrows with cotton wool but have fine hair that gets greasy easily...

It's the same with tattooing- as the skin heals they lighten considerably. You'll get used to it and actually think the end result might be a bit too light if you're like me Grin

NoParticularPattern · 05/02/2019 20:08

They will fade! Honestly they’ll look totally different in a short while. Partly you’ll get used to the dark but mostly they will fade as the healing happens. I always have this regret with my eyebrows when I have them dyed- they look too dark and so so horrible but eventually you get used to it and they also start to fade and then you have to start colouring them in again 😂 same happens with the microblading!!

FlowersInTheSmallHours · 05/02/2019 20:08

Use this. No need whatsoever to not wash your hair

They will go down about 80%

I'm sorry this shouldn't surprise you ... your tech should have explained this very very clearly .

I've had mine done and they are life changing .

Don't do anything and don't touch them .

They will scab , it will fall off , they will kind of vanish and then come back .

Make a decision on your thoughts in about 8 weeks ....

namechangedforanon · 05/02/2019 20:13

Sorry that sounds harsh don't stress 💗💗

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 05/02/2019 20:28

So you look like Fu Manchu for a week, then have scabby eyebrows, which then peel off. They then vanish and they end up too pale after 8 weeks

You're not selling this to me...Grin

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 05/02/2019 20:28

Oh and you can't wash your hair! Bliley.

Cheetahssitonfajitas · 05/02/2019 20:29

I'm on day 7. Just to warn you, if you got them done today they will look darker tomorrow once they have scabbed over. And will look that dark until about day 7. Then the scabs start to come off and they look super light and faded (and patchy!) underneath. This is because there's a layer of healing skin over the ink. Eventually that will grow out and reveal the true colour after about 6 weeks apparently. That's when they do the top up. I have washed my hair every other day. I've run a shallow bath and laid down in it then used the shower attachment or a jug really carefully!

HelloDarlin · 05/02/2019 20:31

I need an eyebrow intervention. How do you all rate microblading?
My brows have become scant, and the hairs have lost their colour. Also the skin underneath has become red & dry. I think Eltroxin is to blame.
I’ve never had heavy brows though, and just want them back as they were...

Fabellini · 05/02/2019 20:33

I’ve had mine microbladed twice..four times if you count the top ups you get after a couple of months.
I didn’t stop washing my hair, and I did it in the shower - kept the water off my face as much as possible but I don’t stress too much about it!
I thought my eyebrows looked far too dark initially, but once they were healed - and definitely after the top up - they are perfect!

JoyceDivision · 05/02/2019 21:57

Fabellini, followed your advice and showered... Also have just rinsed hair dye out... Now hair darker it is balancing them out skittle bit but they are still too dark Sad

They are going to be too dark because they are, and they definitely will be tomorrow. Put the cream on that I hope you were given and sleep. It's going to be a few days before they feel or look better but please do not mess with them. They may not look as bad as you think.

ooooohbetty · 05/02/2019 22:30

Look on Pinterest. There are posts that show you how they will look each day for the next fortnight. I've just had my top up and am v disappointed.

Fabellini · 05/02/2019 22:33

They won’t stay too dark though, honest! Keep the faith and be patient Grin

GreyHare · 05/02/2019 22:48

They will be too dark until they scab and flake off around anywhere between day 7 to day 10, but by day 3 you'll be almost use to them and you'll panic when they flake off and miss the darkness. Did your Microblader not warn you that you will hate them and panic that they are too dark? as mine repeatedly told me this (I still panicked but not as much as I could have) Fear not they will be ok. Oh and for hair washing I stuck cling flip over them and held it down with micropore tape, I do two layers and try to keep as much water off my face as possible.

30Michelle · 24/05/2021 14:57

Why would you not wash your hair? Do you not have a bath or know someone who does?
