Face moisturiser: you have to try this!

For the last week, I have swapped my usual makeup removal routine (Nivea eye makeup remover, Cerave facial wash (x2), Nip and Tuck Dragon's Blood serum, Environ youth eye gel, Avene moisture mask) for something completely different, and my skin looks and feels better than it has done in my entire life (I'm 52).

I still use Nivea eye makeup remover (because nothing else is as good), but I wash my face twice with soap (can't remember what type - perfume free, probably vegan so my DP can use it) and warm water and a slightly rough bamboo wash cloth, then slap on a large pea-sized lump of Neutrogena Norwegian formula hand cream (the concentrated one).

My pores have shrunk, my skin is smooth and clear, and it feels sooo comfortable. Has anyone else tried this? If not, you should give it a go. I have mature combination skin, for info.

Is it the normal one or fast absorbing?

I shall have to give it a go I think. I'll let you know if it works for me.

I only ever use oils on my skin, never shop bought moisturiser, can't stand the thought of all the chemicals and they always make my face sting. I find oils much more moisturising .

I really liked the Norwegian formula face moisturiser but I can't see it on sale anywhere nowadays.

Well i shall report back ( if I've purchased the right one Hmm)

I had a similar good result with Silcock's base cream, which is similar in consistency with neutrogena hand cream. Not sure if you can get it in the uk. It is a cream commonly used in the treatment of eczema. Anyway ran out of moisturiser one day, used the nearest cream to hand which was this cheap as chips Silcock's base and my makeup never looked as good! Not sure if it is good for my skin long term.

CosyToast what’s the soap you’re using?
