High spf moisturiser that doesn’t make me a greasy mess?

Does it exist?
I’d ideally like at least 30 spf. I’ve used sun lotions on my face but find it makes my makeup slip off quickly.
Is there a magic moisturiser??

Free dyer mid not the cheapest but does tick all your boxes as well as acting as a great primer

Lelivre · 04/02/2019 17:43

I would like to know too!
I’ve googled: Free dyer mid
But I am none the wiser!

Sausagefingers9 · 04/02/2019 17:58

I need to start using it more. Would much rather be pale than wrinkly.
I heard Jessie Cave on a podcast and she said she uses factor 50 every day and she looks about 12 so it must do something.

Body Shop Skin Defence SPF50. Lightweight milky lotion and doesn’t leave a white chalky look. Works well on own or under makeup.

A lot of people here like the Biore Aqua Essence SPF50. I didn’t like it personally as it’s more of a siliconey gel and made my face feel tight, but might work for you if your skin is oilier.

I love this eve Lom one. It’s £££ but lasts for ages

Frezyderm is one that a lot of people like, it does have a lovely finish but it contains silicon which I don't like the feel of. I use Natio for Men, but it is a bit glowy, not exactly shiny but not matte either.

Tawdrylocalbrouhaha · 04/02/2019 18:05

I like Clinique Cityblock sheer.

hootatoot · 04/02/2019 18:08

Boots do a 30 SPF one in their your good skin brand. I use it daily and it's not greasy (and I have greasy skin 😒). Its less than a tenner I think and they often have offers on.

hootatoot · 04/02/2019 18:09

I should add that it's just a moisturiser with 30 SPF. I like it.

Finding the perfect spf to wear under make up takes lots of time and trial and error to find your holy grail. I think the advice is to use your normal moisturiser with a stand alone spf 50 on top to ensure you apply the correct amount to get full coverage of your face (yes even in the U.K.!) I find Asian skincare SPF much better than the SPF you can buy in the U.K. so you should maybe start looking into that and order from Amazon leaving some time for delivery.
It depends on your skin type but I have oily skin and find Biore UV bright face milk perfect for me over my usual moisturiser. It dries down matte and feels primer-like under my make up. However I think I tried about 10 SPFs over the years before I settled on this one.

Biore watery SPF is the only thing I have found that doesn't feel slimy and shiny under makeup

Stoppedat1 · 04/02/2019 19:10

(I've tried about a billion)

cessie322 · 04/02/2019 19:21

I have used this one for about 4 years now and really like it. It's expensive though but I haven't like anything else I've tried.

I used to use Sunsense and liked it, however someone on here recommended La Roche Posay Anthelios XL (SPF 50) and since I like their other products thought I would give it a try. It is sooo matte you wouldn't know you've put any on,I have oily skin and it helps stop my face become shiny so early on in the day. I wear it everyday as I have melasma.

Bodyshop vit C spf 30. Great stuff!

berniebee · 05/02/2019 03:15

Double wear hydrating primer has spf 45

WinterHeatWave · 05/02/2019 03:22

Bodyshop Skin defence SPF50, or Biore watery essence SPF50.

Simple do a SPF30.

elonmusk · 05/02/2019 03:24

Agree 100% with PP - Body Shop skin defence, SPF 50 and really good both under and over moisturiser

gerispringer · 05/02/2019 03:30

I like Hydrocare spf 50. Spanish brand They do a lightly tinted gel one which means I don’t need to use a foundation on top. Recommended by skin clinic I went to. Pricey but lasts for ages.
