The ever elusive 'nice top'

I am after a nice top to wear with black skinnies for a casual night out.

Ideally something scoop neck or v neck, have all the boobs but a podgy tum, high necks give me a shelf for a bosom. Not sleeveless please.

Have you seen one recently? I'm 40something and don't like animal prints...

If it helps I'm 34FF, size 14 to 16 with slim hips/legs/bum and I'd definitely wear the first and second.

That's not my cup of tea at all, and I hate things around my neck I'll pretend I could ever spend that much on a top

I like loose silky shirts in theory but I find they make me look fatter than I am, I'm a 14 in trousers but 16-18 over the bust depending on the shop. Dresses that fit my top drown me on the bottom half and I've no waist to speak of.

Well how about a nice silk shirt then?

Something like this? V-neck, close fitting sleeves, cut for big boobs, ruched over stomach, 3/4 sleeves so arm length will be okay.

Nooddsocks I like both of those, thank you. I used to wear a lot of sheer stuff plus camisole (or best bra when I was younger and thinner!)

I'm a bit concerned op that those tshirts you've ordered might make you look a bit square, hopefully not! I prefers longer tops with a lower neck line. Wraps are the most flattering imo. Good luck.

The ones I bought have arrived and I'll keep them, but oddly the pale pink is much wider at the neck than the silver. They don't look boxy on as the hem dips at the back (I wasn't expecting it to particularly ) they are all OK but none are wow. Will probably wear the black or the silver for the date I've got some sparkly earrings that will go well with it

Me and Em are lovely quality.
I ordered some Mint Velvet tops last summer and they were awful- I had foolishly thought that £35 for a t shirt would mean something special, but the colours were wishy washy compared to the website and the quality no better than M&S for £7.
