I am looking for a shampoo and conditioner that smells like almonds. Does anyone know of any easily available in the UK that doesn't cost an arm an a leg? TIA.

Toni and Guy used to smell of almonds, at least I used to think it did! I’ve not used it for years though so it may have changed.

Garnier Ultimate Blends have a couple. Usually just a few quid and often discounted.

SoftBlocks · 03/02/2019 19:17

Watching with interest as I used to love the now discontinued Vidal Sassoon shampoo which smelt of almonds.

Chocolateporridge · 03/02/2019 19:21

The ALDI ones that are trying to look like the "Aussie" brand always smell like Almonds to me, go and have a sniff Smile

Luckingfovely · 03/02/2019 19:22

Yup. Korres do! It is absolutely heavenly.

Not the cheapest but not as bad as salon brands. I buy it in Waitrose.

Yes!! They sell it in savers.
It's in a white bottle with brown writing and orange bits on the bottle.....it's a quite geometric looking bottle....
Schwartzkopf gliss.....
Like the photo but the white bottle!!

Watching too, I love the Aveda one that smells of almonds but it's too expensive for me at the mo.

Dr Bronner almond soap (all purpose stuff) smells divine but it's hit and miss whether it'll work for you as a shampoo (I have very temperamental skin and it's ok for that but isn't very conditioning - i definitely need separate conditioner if I use it)

TheShiteRunner · 03/02/2019 20:09

Thank you all! I'll test a few and get back to you... I've also just ordered almond oil to make myself some perfume, I think I need some marzipan or something Grin

I used to love the Vidal Sassoon shampoo - can smell it now when I think about it.

wowfudge · 03/02/2019 20:14

I think L'Occitane might have an almond range - they often do matching shampoo.

KeithLeMonde · 03/02/2019 20:18

Ooh nice thread. I used to go to a salon who used almond-smelling shampoo and I miss it. We have Savers in town so will pop in and see if I can find the one mentioned upthread.

Exactly Keith -I have such lovely memories of going to a salon when I was a child, and having my hair washed (bliss!) with almond shampoo and conditioner. It was so lovely!

I really want to try the Aveda Cherry Almond one, but too £££. That Ultimate Blends one is tempting too.

PussyTasteLikeSkittles · 06/02/2019 21:14

There used to be a loreal kids shampoo that smelt of almonds, in a dark bright pink bottle. Don't know if they still do it. It was pretty cheap.

MoltonSilver · 06/02/2019 21:19

Almond oil is lovely on the skin but I don't think it particularly smells of almonds.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/02/2019 21:39

L'Occitane do the almond shower oil, which is lovely but not particularly almondey , more floral.

I wouldn't use it on my hair unless I was desperate .

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/02/2019 18:11

I bought the Korres Almond+Linseed s/c . Used it today. Nice enough smell but not a strong almond , more 'milky'

I never used the Vidal Sasoon but my DSis did and she said it was intensely marzipanny (no help to you though, I think it's discontinued)

Laiste · 17/02/2019 18:48

Loved the Vidal Sasoon one!

Loved that yellow 'Flex' one too ... wonder if you can still buy that?

(sorry no help to OP)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/02/2019 22:13

I saw Flex a while back in one of the £ Shops , I don;t know if it had the same smell though . (I didn't sniff it . If I see it again in my travels , I will)

Anyone remember a shampoo from the 80s that had a hexangon shaped lid , brown bottle . I'm thinking Organic something Something to do with wheat in a field .

Not Timotee
. (It wasn;t Topaz either - I loved Topaz )

Julianaa · 18/02/2019 16:46

La petite marseillaise, if you can get that where you are (or online, or on holiday in France / Spain / Belgium).
