Purple shampoo that works?

Had hair highlighted, there are a couple of bits on the top that are a bit brassy, I have been using Tresemme purple shampoo, also have tried Touch of Silver but no difference at all, do any of the purple shampoos make any difference?

Buy some Gentian VIolet off e bay and add it to your shampoo and/or conditioner. You only need a few drops each time - lasts for years and you can control how 'purple' you want it.

Another vote for fanola! My hairdresser uses it as a toner now, and using it at home weekly/fortnightly has stretched out my visits to the hairdresser by weeks.

SeaSlug · 04/02/2019 09:10

Thanks everyone, I will look into those

When my hair was really blonde I loved the Aveda one!

RuggyPeg · 04/02/2019 19:29

Easily Fanola. I think it smells awful but it's brilliant stuff.

squirrelnutkins1 · 04/02/2019 19:35

Do any of you use gloves for fanola? My hair dresser uses it. She doesn't use gloves but told me I should....?

squirrelnutkins1 · 04/02/2019 19:35

Ps. I LOVE the smell

thismeansnothing · 04/02/2019 19:36

Deffo fudge. It's expensive but lasts ages and really does the job

Tonytonymacaroni · 04/02/2019 19:40

Aveda Blue Malva. It’s a bit drying though so make sure you use a good conditioner

Butternutsqoosh · 04/02/2019 19:44

I love fudge, makes my hair lovely and silvery!

lpchill · 04/02/2019 19:45

Just had the same problem but very very yellow. Saw online to use fudge and it was really fantastic after just one use. Took most of the yellow brassy tone out. Can wait to see what a few more uses of it does!

MistyMaudMilou · 04/02/2019 19:55

Another vote for Fudge clean blonde. It works wonders and also smells amazing!

RuggyPeg · 04/02/2019 20:28

Yes, I use gloves. I get purple cuticles otherwise.

squirrelnutkins1 · 04/02/2019 22:34

Ooh lots more votes for fudge... do you need gloves? @MistyMaudMilou @Butternutsqoosh @lpchill @thismeansnothing

thismeansnothing · 04/02/2019 23:17

@squirrelnutkins1

I didn't use gloves but it did stain the sides of my nails a bit purple which never bothered me.

habibihabibi · 05/02/2019 05:21

I never use gloves and I use fanola every wash.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 05/02/2019 07:07

Lee Stafford for me too. Been using it for years now and it works brilliantly

VanillaSauce · 05/02/2019 11:03

Mix violet dye with any conditioner of your choice or best suited to your hair type.

prampushingdownthehighst · 05/02/2019 11:07

I have ordered fanola no yellow shampoo as it comes highly recommended by friends and on this thread but the colour!
Was warned by my friend I may need gloves and I can see she wasn't joking.
Fingers crossed.

Butternutsqoosh · 05/02/2019 11:42

Yes I always wear gloves - stains everything otherwise!
