Ebay for capsule wardrobe/starting again

Hi, I've been following this board for a while now and I'm picking up some ideas.

I'm 40 and I have felt fire a while that I need to find a style of clothes that suits me and that I can stick to more or less.

I really like All Saints clothes and cannot afford the majority of their clothes but I really want to build up a wardrobe so eBay seems a good place to start.

Has anyone got any advice on their sizing, what not to buy, which of their stuff is good and not so good, and maybe other brands I could go for that are similar?

Thanks

Are you anywhere near an All Saints branch? You really need to go and have a big trying-on session, just to get a feel for the sizing of different things on you. Also make a note of the specific pieces you like - I think they usually have names for different styles - and keep an eye out for them second hand.

That's the only way I've been able to make eBay work for me - knowing my size in the brands I'm interested in, then setting up searches for those brands. Otherwise you end up making mistakes and wasting money on things that don't fit or suit.

Similar to All Saints but less expensive - have you seen the House of Fraser brand Label Lab? It has the same kind of aesthetic.

There is a branch near me, I will go and try a few bits on and also see the items in real life so to speak.

Will also check out Label Lab, thank you, much appreciated.

I recommend what PP do.
I have been in John Lewis and tried on lots of brands like Fenn Wright Manson etc to get to know my size and then I do specific searches on eBay. Currently I am buying barely used Reiss clothes to update my wardrobe for going back to work after maternity leave. I am also 40 and I think it’s a great age to refresh your wardrobe!
