Purchased this dress for a wedding but not sure if I should go black shoes/fascinator or nude shoes/fascinator. 2 pictures attached. What do you think?

Don’t think I’d go black.
Nude could work.

How about a contrasting pastel?

ThankYouDebbie · 02/02/2019 15:55

Another vote for not black. Nude would be OK or maybe white or cream?

I think a fascinator would be a bit much and detract from the dress. Also, they're generally horrible.

banivani · 02/02/2019 15:56

I wouldn’t go black either, too waspy. ;) grey? Possibly pink or a dark green?

flumpybear · 02/02/2019 16:04

Definitely not black - probably nude or light silver grey

Nic165 · 02/02/2019 16:05

Thanks for your suggestions :) I might skip the fascinator on second thoughts as my hair will be in some sort of up-do and I'll get some nice earrings so probably would be a bit OTT with a fascinator. What about a metallic colour heel? I'm rubbish at putting an outfit together!

Model is wearing nude shoes.

Cream would be fine.
Definitely not black 🐝

Simple jewellery and hair up.

Deeedeeee · 02/02/2019 16:20

Nude or cream would be fine.
Silver maybe.
Cobalt blue works really well with yellow if you're after a more colourful look.
I wouldn't go for black with this dress.

Thank you all :) just one last question - what would you wear over it for getting to and from the venue if it's a bit cold?

Do you have a nice coat?
I have a coat specifically for weddings, too fancy for day to day stuff.

Probably no help now but you can often pick one up for cheap just as the shops start with the sales on winter wear. Try and look for a neutral dress coat maybe.

Sausagefingers9 · 02/02/2019 18:20

I wonder if you could get away with something like this?
Or this. Not sure if they would go though.

Nic165 · 02/02/2019 18:26

Great! Gives me a good idea of what to look for. Thanks!
