Best cheap shampoo?

I've been using that Alberto B one (I forget what it's called) but it's made me hair really dull.

Honestly I'm just cheap and don't want to spend a lot. Any recommendations?

i actually like using the sainsburys own brand apple shampoo + conditioner. it makes my hair shiny.

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/02/2019 15:46

I was going to say sainsbury apple too! Waitrose do a nice daily shampoo as well. You always need to keep rotating your shampoo imo.

Nquartz · 02/02/2019 15:46

I have seen Aldi have an own brand version of Aussie, I haven't tried it yet but their own brand stuff is usually good.

Jackshouse · 02/02/2019 15:47

I rate the Aldi own Aussie shampoo and conditioner as better than the Aussie stuff.

There is a coconut one in Homebargains for 99p. It’s in a clear bottle. I love it. It makes my hair really soft and gets rid of static in the winter from central heating. I always get compliments on how nice my hair looks when I use it.

ToastyFingers · 02/02/2019 16:25

There's one in poundland in a brown bottle, it's a rip off of the Moroccan oil one and its pretty good. My hair is damaged and bushy and it does the trick if it's close to pay day.

Ofthread · 02/02/2019 16:36

Palmer's coconut.

Nelsondog · 02/02/2019 16:44

Superdrug’s Pro Vitamin Range.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 02/02/2019 16:45

The big tresemme bottles last for ages and are quite often on offer. I buy the clarifying one and my hair has never been so shiny.

BaeBae · 02/02/2019 17:27

Pantene Miicellar is good.

creamcheeseandlox · 02/02/2019 17:29

The Aldi aussie one made my hair greasy. And my local aldi seems to have stopped their version of Alberto balsam which I buy from boots. I love the blueberry one atm it makes my hair so soft and shiny.

fatpatsthong · 02/02/2019 18:52

Another for the tresseme clarifying one - my hair is shiny as

thethoughtfox · 02/02/2019 18:56

Pantene Micellar Shampoo. It's clear. I have greasy roots and potentially dry, coloured long hair. It makes it really clean, bouncy and shiny.

whatsnewchoochoo · 02/02/2019 19:43

Thanks everyone, some great suggestions

Not as cheap as some but I really like the Head and Shoulders Supreme Smooth range.

Northernmum100 · 02/02/2019 20:04

I use Aldi skincare and love it but did try the Aussie style shampoo and conditioner and my hair was horrible- straw like and dull. I like Dove and it is often on offer or in discount stores e.g. home & bargain etc

grenadezombie · 02/02/2019 20:11

I use treseme now. The bigger bottles are often on cheap in the supermarkets. I use the blue one, and have stopped using conditioner after 30 years since starting it.

Uncooperativefingers · 02/02/2019 20:18

I buy my shampoo from Costco... I find that some cheaper shampoos are thinner and so I have to use more and then loose any cost saving. Currently have a 750ml bottle of tigi bedhead shampoo (green one that smells of apples) and 750ml conditioner on the go. It lasts me about 5 months because it's nice and thick and was less than £15 for both.

Before that I had three bottles of Aussie for £10, also Costco

JinglingHellsBells · 02/02/2019 21:19

Garnier Ultimate Blends.
You can often get offers of 2 for £4.

I was told Treseme was rubbish by a hairdresser years ago.

Betty777 · 02/02/2019 21:28

Another vote for Tresemme big bottle - lasts ages and often on sale

grenadezombie · 02/02/2019 21:31

I was told Treseme was rubbish by a hairdresser years ago.

I tried it myself and made my own decision 🤷🏻‍♀️

MrsPMT · 02/02/2019 21:36

I like the Inecto shampoo you get from Semi-Chem or Home Bargains. Also not tested on animals which is good.

BinkyBuntyFintyCunty · 02/02/2019 21:40

Sali Hughes (honest beauty writer) always says that shampoos are much of a muchness - so pretty much any is fine. If you can, spend more money on conditioner.

I just re-read that. Many much muches Smile

hugoagogo · 02/02/2019 21:51

waitrose this smells so nice, is gentle and 79p!

RoseMartha · 02/02/2019 23:12

Dove shampoo but get it in poundland.
Aldi ones are also very good.
