How long does a bottle of foundation last you?

I wear makeup most days and have just finished my bottle of MAC studio fix. I've only been using it for 6/7 weeks and it's not like I cake it on.
Is this about right? How long does your bottle of foundation last you if you wear it most days?
It's the first time I've stopped to consider how long it lasts me tbh. I don't even want to think about how much I spend on foundation a year Blush

About 3 months.

babysharkah · 01/02/2019 12:54

I probably buy two bottles a year but don't use it in the summer so maybe 3 months?

beautybeauty · 01/02/2019 12:59

That's kind of what I was thinking, that it should last about 3 months.
Maybe I am using too much or not applying it in the best way. I think the beauty blender might be to blame as it takes up a lot of product.

A bottle lasts me 2 years. I use one pump a day and switch to tinted moisturiser in the Summer.

lavalampoon · 01/02/2019 13:41

I use Mac Studio Fix every day and a bottle lasts me about 3 months, I think your beauty blender is eating your foundation, they're quite bad for that!

tinydancer88 · 01/02/2019 13:41

2-3 months? I wear it every day at work and sometimes touch up during the day. Try to wear it as infrequently as possible at weekends if I'm not doing anything special. I apply with a brush which I think does absorb a fair bit of product.

Tootrousers · 01/02/2019 13:48

Switch to a stippling brush and you’ll find it lasts much longer

Richlyfruited · 01/02/2019 15:33

DW bottle lasts me 6 months but I usually mix with moisturiser or primer so I'm guessing it lasts me twice as long!

JinglingHellsBells · 01/02/2019 16:25

Dior Star lasts me almost 6 months using daily.

HildaZelda · 01/02/2019 16:39

About 10-12 weeks I'd say, but a beauty blender sucks up foundation. A brush or even fingers will make your foundation last longer.

beautybeauty · 01/02/2019 16:48

Thanks everyone! I'm going to use a brush instead to see if the next bottle lasts longer.

I use a damp Beauty Blender but I still only use one pump. I'm not keen on brushes partly because it would take more time to clean one daily than a Beauty Blender and I hate the thought of using a brush with days old foundation on it.

SoyDora · 01/02/2019 17:09

6-8 months

LaPampa · 01/02/2019 18:37

The last one I bought was last April. So 9 months so far

trendingorange · 01/02/2019 19:24

My studio fix probably lasts me 6months, but I have two different shades on the go and mix them in a pot with a brush which I never clean sloven

hartof · 01/02/2019 19:26

Every day foundation about 5 weeks 😳 I use a beauty blender. Have tried every other way and this is the one that uses the least product.

BlueCornishPixie · 01/02/2019 19:31

A beauty blender literally eats product.

Mine lasts about 3 months or so, with daily use plus top ups for nights out etc.

Boredboredboredboredbored · 01/02/2019 19:32

I use Dior too and would say around 6 months.

FleeceDetective · 01/02/2019 19:36

Do you dampen your beauty blender before using?

beautybeauty · 01/02/2019 20:21

Yes I wet the blender first (but fair comment because I made this mistake when I first used it!).
Haha @hartof I think we're in the minority here.
I definitely want my foundation to last longer so I'm going to give the brush a try. Thanks everyone Smile

Full pump. Damp beauty blender... I feel like a bottle lasts me a year because some days I use half a pump or less and apply with fingers.

HenweeArcher · 01/02/2019 20:35

I bought some in duty free before we went on holiday in Nov 2016. Pretty sure it’s still at least 80% full and tbh I have no idea where it is 😂

MaryLennoxsScowl · 01/02/2019 20:38

Mine lasts a year! Every brand I’ve tried. I put it on my nose, chin, lower cheeks, part of my neck - don’t bother with forehead and cheekbones as they don’t look blotchy. I wear it most days too - apply with fingers so none is wasted on a brush. I must put it on thinly compared to the rest of you though!

gaggiagirl · 01/02/2019 21:00

Oh I've just checked when I last purchased a bottle.. I retract my statement of a year. It's actually 6 months (becca 24h) but my last bottles or ELDW lasted a year each as I only used fingers for dw.
